It's a marketing company calling on behalf of other companies. Finally responded to one call and it was on behalf of Quickflix (wanted to know why I had ended my membership despite having informed Quickflix of this when I cancelled). During working hours, and operator was rude to me. Never using Quickflix again and would not recommend to others as a result....

Also used to be a Quickflix member, and I'll be very unhappy if I find out it is them calling. This number has called repeatedly and hangs up as soon as I pick up, then rings out when I return the call.

A very rude 'character' called last night promoting some kind of energy saving scheme, got annoyed when I told him off. Just ignore it and don't pick up!

If and when you get to talk with these idiots, be nice. Ask where they are calling from and which company. Ask them if they can repeated your phone number back to you. Get as many deatils as possible THEN threaten them with reporting the company for spam calls. Unsolicted calls are an offence once warned and these companies not only cause an inconvenience to us, they can actually cause anxiety. If you are female and get hang up calls, like I have from thsi number, you can become nervous and fearful of stalkers. These people/companies need to be warned!!

I sent them a pic of their phone number and the stats on this page. We're on to them!

I bet it's an outbound auto dialler - call centres use them. Rather than have a Rep sitting idle half the time (waiting for someone to pickup) the dialler waits until the call is answered then puts it through to the next available Rep. That's what causes the delay - the computer connecting the line to the Rep's terminal, it takes quite a few seconds & by then the person who has answered often hangs up. Call centres can block all incoming calls on the line the auto dialler uses.
