Caller: A federal police officer called Steven who sounded Indian

Before I got the call from Steven another lady called Alice Walker (also Indian accent) had called me and said someone had opened 15 different bank accounts under my name using my personal details. They had put 1.2million into these accounts and it was very suspicious she gave me her number and all these other numbers then said to wait by the phone because a federal officer was going to call back. I answered the call and the guy asked who I was and how many bank accounts I had. I said 2 then he said so you don’t have 15 then I said yes I do he asked again and I said yes I have 15 accounts and he got mad I just hung up. If I had more time I would’ve kept on playing his game but I was working and it was hard to hear.

Said he was from Services Australia calling about tax file number and CRN fraud, me or someone had opened 10 bank accounts and 15 credit card accounts & racked up $700,000 in debt. Asked me to look up Aust Fed police number, they would call me but stay on the line to him, another call came in supposedly from a Federal Police officer... wanted me to go to the bank and draw out my money and put it into an account number they would give me for safe keeping for 24 hrs..wanted me to stay on the line for another 1 - 2 hours while I went to the bank lol. I said I was at work, he said tell your supervisor this is an emergency & if I don't follow through they will know I am the criminal. A couple of other numbers also involved in this elaborate scam

A person with an Indian accent claiming you be calling from borders security called me about a parcel under my name containing cocaine and also said my id has been fraudulently used to open multiple accounts from different stages in Australia and also in different banks. Wanted to ask what bank accounts I have and said they are helping me or I'll be jailed and face persecution.

They called me first with a mobile number than hung up and then another claiming to be a detective or sergeant calling from the Victorian Federal Police called me as well and told me that he wants to know what are my bank balances so he can decipher which ones are fraudulent. I said I'll call him back on the Federal Police number with his name as I felt odd that I needed to give personal details like bank info to someone over the phone. I wanted to call back asking for my case id and to just make sure it is the police calling me. The guy got impatient and asked why I don't believe him and that the number is indeed from the Victorian Federal a police and then insisted that if I hung up they'll straight away arrest me.

I hung up and called the Victorian Federal Police and they confirmed it's a scam and they said that if they feel that someone has done something illegal they will SHOW up at your doorstep not call to take your statement. And, if your parcel or post is showing something illegitimate the postal office will call and inform you that your parcel will not be delivered due to compromised items, NOT the border security police.

The police says they will NEVER ask you about bank accounts info.

It’s happened to me today 😥 I did not know then I give my information to them 🥺🥺 (03) 9607777

Told them my name was Mickey Mouse and string them along for a good 15 minutes from a mobile phone number and then got another call from (03) 9607 7777 and then held them there for 10 min. That’s ok, we are in lockdown here in Melbourne so I had a laugh for a bit and not much else to do really…

same story as above about my tax file number being used for fraud and drug trading linking to bank accounts, asking how many bank accounts i had.. etc, after hanging up on them, the mobile number used i had the (03) 9607 7777 - 3 calls and also from 0417 389 516, 0417 389 540 0417 389 534 0410 023 041, they were persistant but gave them no account details, they were also saying they can send me case details on whatsapp, and also quoting a officer with there badge id.. etc.. load of crock, but could easy get caught out if not on guard.The give away was when the asian person got angry as i was not co-operating.

Got a call from this number and another number, +6126695010, they both said they were from the AFP. They both gave me their badge ID numbers and the address of the AFP on Melbourne. He told me that someone had stolen my identity and that I had 15 accounts open and 12 credit cards involved in drug trafficking, money laundering etc.. that I didn’t have any idea. about this. He said to me exactly what I found online. Then I spoke to another so called member of the AFP, a John Watson, and said that there will be 3 police officers knock on my door tomorrow and arrest me. How can they do something like this?

Go a call from 0427 414 535 with an automated message of some fraud and sh*t and asked me to press 1. I was curious :DD, then an Indian/Pakistani sounding lady asked my full name to pull up my file :D for the some fraud I am involved in :D :D. I said you called me so you should already know my name. Instantly she hanged up the call. They waited for 10 minutes than a lady with a pretty good but fake Aussie accent call from the number (03) 9607 7777. And she without addressing my name said they are from AFP and asked ;Do you know why we are calling?? with very stern voice. I said no and laughed. She just hungup!!! :DD

They are still at it. Rang one of my employees who is Indian and where English is their second language. He was quite upset by the call believing it to be legitimate. Fortunately he came to me and we did some checking and found this forum. I was suspicious beforehand but this just confirmed my suspicions. The call was in the same nature as the other comments here - bastards!!! My guy was about to hand over personal details too. As I said to the my guy - never, never, never give out personal information on the phone. Always ask to meet in person at the Police station. Once we did that, the caller lost interest, although he was on the phone for 45 minutes beforehand.

I had a call from the same call centre saying similar things to other comments here. I was also told that 15 loans had been taken out in my name, one being a $120,000 car loan. They were after my tax file number and other details. She said she was from Services Australia, which got me believing the call was genuine, because I had only just registered my phone number on the Services Australia (MyGov) website a few days prior. I think they have a troll on the website. The woman had an Indian accent and said her name was Mary Cameron.

I had a call from a mobile number who said they were from Services Australia. They claimed that I had 10 bank accounts opened under my name and someone had used my tax file number and stolen over $90K of money. They asked me to google 96077777 and told me that was the federal police number and that they would be ringing me. They called and told me they would be closing down my bank accounts and when I started asking questions they were incredibly rude and hung up on me.

I got call the same Indian...same situation... long conversation... to make it short the last I’ve spoken he said to me ...to make safe my money he told me to go a convenient store and get a voucher check to deposit all my money... I said straight away ... you f*cking scamm...0

Got scammed from this number (03) 9607 7777. Got a call from (03) 4227 8424 and said they were from services Australia asking if I've got 16 accounts. They said they wanted to verify that it wasn't me. The Federal Police contacted me to also verify my details on (03) 9607 7777.

I got a call from a mobile number and then they called me back on a landline. They said they would connect me to the AFP which then that person was a fake. HANG UP! These people sounded foreign and were quite rude.
