I called the number (03) 9487 6405 back and got Bupa, a health insurance company.

It's BUPA. They're calls are free within Australia.

It is BUPA Customer Service. They are ringing me as my health care insurance hadn't gone through. All good :)

Called number back - BUPA - they had no idea why I was called after being on hold for 10 minutes.

First had a call from an 06 number for 3 days consecutively with nobody on the phone and then this one. It was in auto dial and out me through to someone and they said nothing. Blocked it.
These auto dial numbers essentially see if you pick up and then move to the second stage where they connect you. As it's programs calling you first eg. The 06 number. Cheaper for staff and more chance they will connect later as it's confirmed you picked up 1,3 or 3 times etc etc

Its now a message saying they are issuing warrants in my name for ATO fraud - block!

Got a call from them, claiming it's about my policy, which I cancelled last year. Not sure if it's a scam but I'm not giving out that info over the phone!

It's not cos they want you to call back at your expense. It's an automated machine calling, and if you don't speak, it thinks no one has answered. If you pick it up and say something, ONLY then will it connect you to someone from a call-centre from their end. It saves someone dialling and waiting.

Received a call from this number daily for weeks. I'd answer and no one would talk then t would hang up. Thinking it was a telemarketer the last time I answered and no one spoke I told them to stop ringing me as I was sick of them wasting my time by not speaking. Next thing someone starts talking to me and it's Bupa. The guy reckons they just had new phones installed and this was causing the problem but I called him out on his lies. Obviously they wanted me to call them back so they could speak with me at my expense not theirs. Very unprofessional!

This number calls regularly.
The phone rings once and then stops.
It's enough to register the number on my phone and I was tempted to call-back.
After reading the other comments, it is clear that they want you to call back to hear their sales offer at your expense.
