Called about the Australian Benefits Programme - sounded like a call centre in the background... I didn't continue with the call. He wanted to know information about the household if we owned our house... blocked the number.

Called today,and hanged up. Called back - automatic msg said the Nr is disconnected.
How disconnected Nr. Was able to call me ? And what's is the point to have my nr in "no call" registry ?

Someone called me from this number. They didn't leave a message. I tried calling back and it said the number was not connected.

Hi, I'm calling from Australian Benefits. How's your day been. I replied "No Thank you". Hung up & blocked. I wish there was a point to the Do Not Call Registry!

She told me there is a new home owners tax benefit and I told her my accountant would advise me. She said they couldn't because they didn't know.
I told her it was my accountants job to know every tax benefit I was eligible for, she said he couldn't possibly know every 283 tax exemptions.
I assured her that if it was a government initiative he would, she said that was why she was calling me, to advise me. I asked if she was from the government or tax office and she said she was offering me advice for them. She became very short and I hung up.

I called back number (03) 9399 8021 rang 5 times then goes to busy tone.

Called today. When I tried to call the number back it said number disconnected.

Called my mobile! Left no message. Rang back says disconnected. Scam for sure

As above - missed call and when I rang back it said the number had been disconnected. Glad I found this site. Am also with the Do Not Call register - not that it seems to work!!

The number appears disconnected because They are calling from a fax duet number. The line has the primary number used for outgoing and incoming calls and the secondary number is used for outgoing only which normally used for fax . So the call comes from the fax number the secondary number so when called back appears disconnected.
Worked on telecom company for over 7 yrs . So people bar the number or reported to “do not call register”

Was called today - said it was the Australian Benefits Program. Clearly a scam since there is no government department or program titled that way. He wanted to know household income details and tell me about 'government approved ways to put your tax to use for your future'. I asked, a little sarcastically, what ways the government was willing to let me reinvest my taxes in myself and he said "Well anyway you want - it's your money, mate." When I pointed out that that's not how taxes work he got shirty and hung up.
Looks like a dodgy financial advisor trying to make money for himself by charging people for telling them how to become a tax dodging arsehole...

Called 3 times today - I rang it back to see who I missed the call from and it says the number is disconnected. Can hear call centre kind of noise in the background. Have blocked the number now.

This number has called me on my mobile regularly this week at various times from 4 pm to 7 pm. I do not answer unknown calls so I have not spoken to anyone nor have they left any message.It is becoming ridiculous the number of unsolicited and scam phone calls I get. I suspect Australia is an easy target because anyone seems to be able to get our personal data and there is apparently nothing we can do about it.
