Caller: Telstra - they left message and call back number for genuine issue on change of ownership of mobile

I returned call and they gave me enough information (before I had to) to confirm it was about a form I had submitted to Telstra, so all good!

I signed up for NBN yesterday and received a call from Telstra NBN case manager today. First they rang my mobile (which I did not answer as number was unknown) and then my homeline number. 100% legit. I like this site because it can confirm whether suspicious callers are scammers, but the number of negative comments here is alarming. Its fine to be cautious, but you can't function if you're paranoid!

I suspected it was a scam call like you all and hung up, I spoke to Telstra over the phone and in person and they confirmed it was legit and they were calling about connecting my NBN

This number is legit, although they are a third party based in Indian, they have the authority to act on behalf Telstra.

Even though there are a lot of Indian people calling with scams I'm still surprised the majority of people providing reviews here say its definitely a scam. It makes me question how much racism is in play here.

To be fair to all the support technicians I had engage with connection the NBN, they had above average communication skills and were very competent. You are in good hands with them.

I worked in the IT industry for over tens years, met hundreds of Indian people through that period. The majority were excellent at their jobs. In my experience, Indian people will do the IT jobs many Australians don't want to do for very long. These support technians may get around 70-80k per year which is nothing in the tech industry. Any decent Aussie can make more and therefore pursue other career routes.

Most likely a scammer. Person claiming to be from Telstra wondering why the modem I ordered last month had not been activated. Told him I had not ordered anything and if he was genuine why has it taken Telstra more than a month to follow up. Told the caller I thought he was a scammer and would disconnect. He then rattled on about "this call is being recorded for training purposes........." Hung up. If he was from Telstra he would have called back. Very concerned he had my name and mobile number.

ITS S SCAM!!!!
Someone saying they are from Telstra but funnily enough Telstra knows nothing about this phone number. All of those saying it is a Telstra number are quite obviously the scammers trying to fool people.

Called about rebooking an NBN technician (I had called last week asking to rebook but had to wait for my order to come through). They asked for full name and date of birth but I confirmed with a Telstra representative on the Telstra app if this is an official Telstra number and they told me that it was. NOT a fake Telstra person or scammer.
