Caller: Microsoft Vendor - Ignore microsoft vendor- ask if they are from microsoft directly or are a vendor - Key is all vendors have emails starting with v_ . They are looking to "review" licensing. Typically uses old company data farmed out by MS to try to initiate Non Compulsory Audit - dont answer any questions, be polite and just hang up and ignore. They will hound you -

Caller: Eona Said she was from Microsoft re Licensing. I am an MSP and an O365 Advisor and have never been contacted by phone from Microsoft, unless I have logged a Support Call. They have all my details they always email me. It's a scam, you will notice the two comments that say it is real are both from Malaysia.

Interesting that a Malaysian based user has apparent credibility on Australian phone numbers.

Caller: Supposed member of Microsoft Licencing (possibly a Phisherman) Got call from Jay on (03) 9115 7343. Claimed I had expired licences etc but I know we've recently done and audit and all is up to date (most products are by automatic subscription anyway). Verified phone number with Microsoft Support online and they've confirmed this phone number is NOT an official Microsoft support number.

Caller: claimed to be from Microsoft The guy claimed to be from Microsoft. I was skeptical at first, but the guy actually knew how many Office 365 licences I have based on the previous Microsoft Audit. So yeah, they are legitimate from Microsoft. If in doubt, ask them to send you email with their details so you can check their email domain address, should be @microsoft.com
