Just had a phone call from gofone on a private numbe. Telling me that Telstra customers habe sent in numerous complaints of slow internet in the connection and high fees for landlines (which my partner and I don't use) telling me about the $80 a month deal for 2-3 years until NBN cover the hole of Australia accordingly. I repeatedly told them that my partner deals with majority of our bills so I don't want to agree to anything and that I would rater he delt with it as he works FIFO. They then kept telling me that I have authority to pay the bills etc and I said yes but I don't want to agree to anything as I don't feel comfortable. The lady got frustrated with me and put me on to her manager who goes by the name of Jeff muskets ID number- TC04026 who then continued to repeat exactly what the lady said and I continued to say I don't want to accept anything that I have no idea what I'm getting myself intO. He pulled out the authority card again and asked for my ID as its part of AAustralian law to have proof of ID. I stupidly gave my Medicare number but it was better then my drivers licence. I then GGoogled the reviews of gofone and came across this site and freaked so it ended with me telling them to not go through with the process because I am not interested, he said I had to because it's illegal for them to stop mid way. So I hung uP!

We too are having almost identical problems with GoPhone except we are a small business. My husband was duped into thinking they were Telstra and before he agreed to any voice recording he challenged who they actually were and he hung up on them but they still took our line. Luckily they snatched only one phone line and we still have our other lines with Telstra so haven't lost business. We too have told them to go back to the voice recording because we didn't agree to anything. We have repeatedly told them we want our line back with Telstra and apparently it did go back to Telstra but then GoPhone took it again (once again without our authorisation!) our bill is now over $700 and they have sent it to a debt collector. We are now going to go to the Department of Fair Trading and hopefully we can get these cowboys to admit their fault and rectify the situation. We will not be paying GoPhone a cent! They are complete scammers. I wish Telstra and the government would crack down on these scammers. We, as a small business can't afford the time, money and energy to waste on these scammers!!

Hi, I got a call from GoPhone, I told him I was very happy with my current provider however if he wanted to send the information to me I would look at it and if I was happy with it I would get back to him. WELL was I stupid, no info came so I didn't worry about it until I got a bill for $!80:00. I rang and told them I would not pay it . I was not even aware that they had the line as I was still paying my old internet and landline provider. GoPhone had Highjacked my land line. Well I haven't been able to make an out going call since the end of Sept and now the bill is $468.00. I am a pensioner and can not and will not pay this account.
When I rang they said that I had a verbal contract so I told them to get the recording and send it to me but alas I have never heard from them, but the bills keep coming. Next step is the Communication Ombudsman. Wish me luck.

I had the most horrible experience withy them yestoday. GoFone is who they say they are and that they are an independent company (Lie) that work alongside Telstra(Lie) that they are established in Melbourne (Lie) and are trying to save me money every month (Lie) They claimed the aus government have given them a rebate to save Internet and landline users at least $50 each month and increase their broadband from your current usage to unlimited (more lies) Unfortunately I fell into
The trap of "verifying" my name and gave them my license number (I feel so stupid having done this) and then I realised I was being duped. I then abruptly hung up on them and started dialing my internet provider to ask them what this was all about and the pesty a**hole was still sitting on my line!!! I hung up 5 times and they were still there grrr so I grabbed my mobile and rung off that, my land line continued to ring several times after telstra and my internet provider both confirmed they were scammers I answered my landline. I told them I wasn't interested and to leave me alone, and constantly got the "ma'am what has changed your mind, tell us what it is you have changed your mind" I said I just did and a not interested anymore...."ma'am don't be stupid, you will save money, we will be transferring your internet and landline over in 2 weeks, we have your license number we can do it" I told them to f*ck off scamming c*nts to which he said "ma'am we are not a scam, you are just not understanding, stop talking so I can convince you" ARRRRRRG I hung up...they rung back a max of 12 times thought the day, I have since pulled my phone out of the wall and not using it anymore d*ckheads

I receive a couple of calls a day from these clowns - invariably Indian and insisting they are "calling from Australia." When pressed he said they are at "150 Park Street South Melbourne." Go phone.
As with other posts, say they are Telstra. Asked them to put me on a list not to call again because not interested. They said they can't. So I asked him to wait while I left the phone off the hook. Recent calls have come up as blocked number.

Have an IPhone? Go in to the missed/received call, select the 'i' logo and select 'block this caller'. Problem solved for you and hopefully these jokers go out of business for everyone else!

Received a call from this number claiming to be from Telstra and that a review of my past few bills revealed that I had been overcharged and I was entitled to a credit. When I said that I would call into a Telstra Shop to clarify this matter, they promptly hung up.

This Number, after asking many times, clearly stated they where Telstra. Insisted on them being Telstra even. When I asked for an email from them to advise me of my new rates, they hung up on me.
Clearly not Telstra :)
