I believe that when you are negative toward them, they pass your contact details on within their insider community and you get multiple calls as a result. I recommend you report these calls to AMCA, Local politician, your telco and request action. I also would ask that you emphasize that numbers you can not return a call to should be immediately disconnected or blocked by the AMCA. I ask that you all promote that the government introduces a system whereby you press "1" during the call causing the caller to be unable to dial that number again. And if they try then they have their number terminated. This would create a self regulating telemarketing industry and destroy the ruthless ones who do not appreciate your personal space. I lead one telemarketer on for 6 months and eventually had a trace set up by my telco. Never had another call from him. That's another way to destroy them if you have the time.

I got a call from them today, some Asian women wanting to talk to me about my electricity bill. She said you always pay your bills on time is this right? I said that's correct but what is this about and she said who is your current energy provider I said Ergon and she hung up. I'm a bit concerned about this? They call me everyday but I've ignored them until today. I thought it was a specialist from Victoria I'm waiting to hear from. I called back after she hung up and it says it's disconnected. I didn't give out any personal information but I'm worried I've just been scammed somehow.

Caller: Michael from Energy Connect???

I just received a call from this number and was quickly transferred to supervisor Michael who "confirmed" the company was Energy Connect.
Michael advised me that I can save 42% with Electricity and 30% with Gas through Sumo Power... but Sumo Power would be my provider after the next meter reading instead of my current provider.
I inquired that I wanted more information and would look into this at a later date and make a decision based on the details I found out, rather than make a rash decision over the phone from someone who told me what a good deal I was passing up....
I then advised Michael that I wasn't interested but was then berated for a further 5-10 minutes because I wasn't interested in the deal he was offering!!
What did get me is that they had all my personal details, phone number, home address etc and that I or a family member had signed up to receive calls regarding this deal in a shopping centre or online etc....
I have received several calls from people claiming to be from Energy Connect and have requested that I don't want any further calls regarding this matter.
This borders on harassment and stalking... and they wonder why we get verbally nasty over the phone....

They repeatedly ring saying they are from an energy company. I have told them they have the wrong person, I’m not interested etc but they keep calling. They just called again and hung up on me when I said hello.

Continually ring me but I have not answered and they don't leave a message. I have been getting lots of calls from idiots purporting to sell me electricity but I've told them I'm not interested . Think this is connected to the same mob. Very painful and have blocked this number.

Caller: Energy Scam

Offered me a 25% discount on my energy bill if I sent pics of bobs and vagene.

Felt it was my duty to inform the lad that men don’t have a vagene ( we can develop bobs though...eating junk, sitting on our arse all days).

Caller: scammers; and boiler room sellers

Do NOT, under any circumstance, ever say the word "yes" when you get these types of calls. They edit that word and lace it into an oral contract and when it is paid back it sounds like you are agreeing to a contract with them. It is probably the best approach to either just don't answer the number and wait for the vmail, or if you do answer simply ask, "who are you and what is it that you want?" If they start to ramble on and you can't get them off th ephone, just set th ephone down just on the other side of the desk or somewhere and start doing something constructive or go back to work. they will, sooner or later, twig that you have done this and I have found that I don't get calls from THAT number again. Maybe the next scammer in the boiler room calls me but not THAT one.
