I called back (03) 9081 0779 reached IVR of dun & bradstreet

It's debt collection company and they hung up on me after I answered......

One of about 8 different numbers that tried calling me claiming to be collecting a debt for Simply Energy. I had a SE account a few years back, I suspect these guys have a stolen customer list.

They weren’t willing to give me a reference number or account number and hung up as soon as I started asking questions. Also called from other area codes and even a mobile number. SCAMMERS.

They've been calling my number looking for a relative of mine for the past few months but won't tell me what it is about, but I know what the matter might be, though i'm not the one with the debt, a family member used my number to register for an internet account. I've told them many times that I no longer live together with that relative and gave them an alternative number numerous times, yet, they just continue to call me. I almost yelled at them one time while I was on a peak hour train when I told them I have given an alternative number in the past, and I'm not happy to give it again when many people is around me. OH, and also they send texts very unprofessionally imo! It only tells me to call a number and quoting number, no details on who they are etc....now why would I call an unknown number?!

Debt Collectors

I thought it was dodgy too until I got an unpaid invoice letter from Dunn and Bradstreet in relation to using City Link. The invoice gets paid via the city link website. Clearly really bad way of contracting people though with the secret squirrel business.

They keep calling. I'm on the Do Not Call register. No matter how many times I complain nothing is done! I don't have loans, I worked all myy life to be Debt free and these wankers think I have a dept. I wish I could stop the harrasement. I don't over my personal details to anyone.

I just block them now.....if they can't tell me why they are calling I can't tell them my DOB!

Shouldnt have to ring them and disclose any personal details to get your number removed colin. They go buying debts that are not theirs and then want to make a quick dollar harassing everyone. Should be illegal

The Australian laws should not allow a company to call you and say that they are calling about a personal matter, and want you to disclose your personal details, full name and DOB, before they will tell you why they are calling, what a disgrace.

This a legit debt collector, they must be ringing your number for a reason, even if not you directly, someone has used your number in some instance for credit or something else, as did my step son. For some reason he gave my wife's number and now we are getting calls related to him. If you have a similar situation with these people just call them and ask for the number to be removed if it is truly not you that owes someone out there money!

Asked to call 1300 663 402 quoting a number
Calls have been approximately once or twice per week since about the middle of September 2014. It is now 12 December 2014. The calls have been during the day, at night and on the weekends.
They say they are from Dun and Bradstreet and first want my date of birth to confirm who they are talking to.
They can't give me any information because of privacy laws.
Will not give me information on who the debt is to, or how much the debt is.
They may ring and hang up when I answer, maybe that is just to make sure that I still have the phone on.
Apparently, after ringing 1300 663 402 quoting that number gives them a huge income from whatever company organises it. Takes money from my Telstra prepaid phone bank. I reported this to police over a month ago but have heard nothing.
Getting fed up of it all.

It's Dunn & Bradstreet Debt Collection co. They use auto diallers

Very rude guy on the phone I could'nt understand where he was calling from. But was trying to be intimadating i told him to call back and hung up. Don't need to be spoken to like that I don't even know of any debts for a start????

Have received numbers of calls from this number, when answered they hang up
