Claimed he was from Telstra. Said I had an internet problem. gave me this number. I know for a fact it's not that easy to get a hold of Telstra. Must be a scam.

The caller claimed he was Telstra and that a virus had come down the phone line and it had infected my computer. The caller named above asked me to turn on my computer and he would show me how to remove the infected files. I told him I didn't believe he was from Telstra. He gave me the above no to verify Caller's ID from his fictitious employee number. Although both "Telstra" employees claimed to be phoning from Melbourne, I asked them what suburb of Melbourne did they live in....you know just idle chit chat...it was pretty obvious they had never been to Melbourne as all they could quote was 242 Exhibition st, Melbourne (anyone with google could find out where Telstra's head office is located).
They gave me the number above to call and verify. When I eventually told him he was not going anywhere near my computer he hung up.

Received a call from lady said to be fromTelstra and advised me that the Telstra servers were receiving warning messages from my internet and that they would run me through how to resolve on my PC. When l asked for details about me, name, ISP provider, etc. the response was that it was not important however they could provide me with my CLSID.. When l then asked for a return contact number and reference number l was refused until repeatedly asking for and then escalated to the 'Technical Supervisor'. He gave me return details number (03) 9028 5573 from 242 Exhibition st, Melbourne, reference number of the logged call and even provided half of my CLSID details. Both persons were difficult to understand. You would highly believe this is fishy!!

Got a call today but it came in as Anonymous. The guy sounded Indian (not that am being racist or anything) he said I am having problem with my Internet. I asked for his name and number to call him back as I was very busy at that time, he told me to get the number off my bill, then I said give me your number as I wanna call you back, he reluctantly gave me Alan phone num (03) 9028 5573. Told me he is calling from Victoria. supposedly I am having with Internet dropping out.I know it's a scam as I am not having Internet problem or drop outs. What a load of BS.

Told me that he was from the Technical Department of NBN. I called him out that the call was a scam! Abused me up hill and down dale and accused me of being a racist. I told him that scammers are giving certain races a very bad name these days because when the scammers keep on repeatedly trying to rip good people off that's how you tend to identify the people doing it.

Caller: Claimed to be Telstra Tecnical

Foreign female, Jennifer, called. Claimed to be from Telstra Technical.
Told me I had files on my computer that were affecting my internet connection.
If I turned on my computer and located the files she could help me open and delete them. Haha.
I asked her what name the account was under and the address.
She could give me the address but only my last name and first initial. (All of which is in the phone book)
I asked to speak to her manager which she would not do. “Not possible”
I asked for a phone number which She gave me as (03) 9028 5573.
I then asked for her ID number, which she said was DL000283.

This is a scam.

Claimed to be a Telstra Support supervisor and told me that my computer had been infected. He asked how old my computer is and told me that the Certificate had expired and needed to be renewed. He asked me to nominate a short-term or long-term plan in order to get my bank details. I told him I would ring him back and (03) 9028 5573 is the contact number he gave. The number does not work and Telstra have confirmed that this is a scam.

Scam trying to get me to open eventvwr on my pc. Which is an old scam to gain remote access. Claim that they are calling from Telstra Head office tech support. Not with Telstra gives Telstra servers are receiving notifications about a virus that is coming into the system through my internet... Rubbish. I dont click on anything but work stuff from very secure servers. They can get quite abusive if you challenge them. AVOID and call police and telstra and scam line. The more people who call them in the better.

Claims he is from Telstra. Called about 4 times before I got home. Claiming something is wrong with my internet. That even if I am not with Telstra, my Dodo, Optus or other has a problem, if I go and start the computer up he will show me what’s wrongand how to fix it. Gave me the name Alex Jones, ID- D421139 and told me to ring back on the following number. (03) 9028 5573. He rang back 5 minutes later because I didn’t ring, surprisingly they couldn’t leave a message on the answering machine.
