Happened couple of times before and my internet didn't disconnect so far

Scam, I just verified it with Telstra while they were on the line and when I told him, he got all abusive and told me to "F" off

Was told on my phoneTelstra was going to disconnect my landline in two hours because I have warning signs coming from my line. I asked why my provider wasn't calling me and off course he had an answer. I then asked to give me a landline to call so I can verify- (03) 9028 2980.
He was persistent and semi aggressive and was getting annoyed that I wouldn't go to my computer to have him fix it.

When I told him I'll call the general Telstra line to verify he got annoyed and stated that the number is the customer Service number in Australia. When I repeated myself this time a bit more slower for him to understand he said that he was going to cut off my internet asap and hung up.

Please be careful if contacted regarding the above. Obtain as much details as you can and then call Telstra General Enquiries to confirm.

Whether he was from Telstra or not I guess I'll just have to wait and see if my internet disconnects

exactly the same thing happened to me today.

Called home phone. Man with a Indian accent said hello (did not say my name) advised he was calling from Telstra technical desk, he asked if I was aware Telstra were cutting off my internet today.

I advised him that this was a scam, that Telstra don't call people at random. He again said he was calling from the the Telstra technical desk. I asked for his phone number, and advised I would Google it, if it was a legitimate Telstra number I would stay on the phone. He said his name was Max Wen his phone operator id was DT520A, his phone number was (03) 9028 2980/">(03) 9028 2980. He then said my internet was being terminated immediately. On googling the phone number I was directed to: http://www.reversephonesearch.com.au/(03) 9028 2980-phone-number#theformplace

This confirmed my suspicion, I advised I was aware this was a scam, I advised I would be reporting them, and asked them not to call me again.
