Same old same old. Jack from Telstra (03) 9016 9070, he even gave his ID number JN243562. I'm pretty sure it's a scam judging by the other entries here and no, I'm not ringing him back!

This is a hoax number On a Monday at 12.15 p.m. - An Indian accent voice calls in a fairly fierce manner warning you that they represent Telstra - that Telstra will disconnect your service unless you go into your computer and delete the malicious viruses that I have been allegedly unknowingly downloading. I called Telstra and they said they don't contact people that way. They send emails and send a letter with Telstra Letterhead. But I am not with Telstra for my computer I am with ii net.

Was told it was Telstra Bigpond calling about downloading virus onto my computer. Telstra will not call you about such things. I asked for their phone number, got this one. This is not Telstra phone number but a fake number for hackers. Don't do anything they ask.

(03) 9016 9070 first blank calls for 2 -3 days then a lady comes into the line and says - calling from Telstra- errors and warning reports from your system-we will fix them.Seems Telstra can't help- very annoying

Same as Nicole above. Rang the number, and got the same people. They could not give me any info that proved they were from Telstra. The supervisor changed tack and said he was representing Telstra from Microsoft. Being from IT, I toyed with them a bit, and they set about getting me to bring up a command prompt. I pushed them heaps at that point, and the phone volume faded away, and that was the end. Definitely crooks!!!

Indian sounding lady called me last night claiming she was from Telstra IT dept. She claimed there was some abnormal activity with errors showing up on their end relating to my PC and needed to remote in to my PC but she stumbled on me (A true Telstra Employee). I asked her for her staff ID which she could not produce, I asked for her manager's name (could not find anyone by that name on our Global Address List. Asked for his one up, again no one by the name she provided. At that point I told her I was terminating the call & hung up. Almost fell for it though

Was given this number as belonging to "Telstra" when I received a scam call about virus alerts from my computer. Haven't tried calling it to see who it does belong to.
