Caller: Government Subsidized Solar Scammers

Redirect from india.
Yet another Solar Panel Scam.
How much is our government paying these low life to call us everyday??
They wouldn't bother if there wasn't a pay off.
Why do telco's allow O/S calls to show as local numbers??

(03) 9005 6764 and (03) 9005 6762 Indian organised scammers using fake English given names. Calls start at about 8 a.m. Indian time (1.30 p.m. Aus EST). Probably indicates a Bangalore base.
Claim to be from NBN, testing speeds and offering $380 replacement modems free of charge from NBN which will bump up speed. Only 'their own delivery organisation doesn't do your area' and want you to pay a small fee for delivery by a third party instead. Ask you to arrange a 'one time only' bank transfer. All sorts of lame excuses why they can't do credit/debit card.
Before you know it, they take control of your computer using ConnectWise Control or ScreenConnect Client. This allows them to see you screen, record your keystrokes, etc.
Pretty skilled, at least 2 intervening levels from the initial 'virgin intern', before you get put through to the arrogant skeemster.
Probably a 'legit' business with Aussie utilities and businesses, with a nifty side line in scamming.

We need to tie up their phones and give them some of their own medicine.
Turn your phone ID off and send those scamming aholes a message of discontent.
Also block the call.
Remeber they're trying to rob and steal from us, so all bets are off.

They get paid per call, not if they fix the issue, or sell something.
So they keep calling the same numbers to rack up the numbers.
Time wasters.

They sent me a message from a mobile number 0481 140 732 saying that I have purchased a Lenovo laptop for $1995. And if I want to cancel the order, I need to ring the (03) 9005 7441 number. I knew straight away that they are scammers. I rang the number and told them that I never purchased a laptop and I am ringing to cancel that order. He asked that have I shared my account details with someone. I said, No. He then sent me an OTP on my mobile and wanted me to give it to him.

As soon as I said "Nice try mate", he hung up. If I had given that OTP to the guy, they would have gotten access to my amazon account to do some free shopping off my credit card. Watch out people.

Same, An Indian voice spoke, looking for the owner of this business which usually rings telemarketer. Offering a free assessment in our cafe, lol we run a tradie service, for solar panels. Kinda rude when I mentioned we are not in the state where he was calling from.
