Caller: eBay scam regarding $199 iTunes/Apple gift card Caller: A company saying they were eBay
This number kept leaving messages on my voicemail with the following message; ‘we will be deducting $199.00 from your account in regards to an Apple gift card you’re purchased on eBay. Please call us back on (03) 9005 6214 firstly, eBay notified and they have had a number of people contact the about the same issue. They will be contacting local authorities and telcos. The moment you call them they will tell you to download an app called ‘TeamViewer quick support’ this poor company and app creator has done nothing wrong but due to these scums trying to steal people’s money, they will be receiving some negative reviews. Basically the app allows a user to mirror your smart phone or computer and basically hold your info to ransom. So be smart and question every call or voicemail you receive.

Just had the same call. I returned the call and the line was exceptionally poor. Their English proficiency was virtually non English speaking and highly middle eastern accented.

Caller: A call centre claiming to be eBay Same as previous poster. Said they were eBay and that someone had used my account to purchase $500 and that I needed to stop the transaction immediately. If they've rung you and you ring back they answer as eBay. If they haven't rung you (used another phone) they won't answer your call. SCAM 100%

Caller: Scammers Ebay/Apple iTunes Gift Card scam Caller: eBay scam regarding $495 iTunes/Apple gift card
Caller: A company saying they were eBay
This number kept leaving messages on my voicemail with the following message; ‘we will be deducting $495.00 from your account in regards to an Apple gift card you purchased on eBay. Please call us back on (03) 9005 6214 I called back and demanded to speak to the Manager - the woman spoke in an Indian accent and mixed race language and she was abused and yelled at by a man and a whole team of screaming women with seemingly deliberate garbled voices making loads of distracting noise perhaps to sound like a call centre - another woman came online and I repeated “get me your supervisor or manager” she replied with a pathetic “why?” As if to tease back, I demanded again to speak to her boss she replied “he’s busy what do you want to do?” I told her I would report you scums trying to steal our money! She hung up! I’m calling to report them now.

just got this call, designed to get you to do something to stop a payment. Total SCAM. Is concerning that some people may fall for this. Why has this number not been shut down?

Caller: (03) 9005 6214 Called as Ebay customer service, asked to download remote assistance app, sent through a URL in which they asked for personal info. Thankfully, I wasn't tricked and spotted that the URL was very suss and the form didn't look legit. Ended the call and uninstalled the app and changed passwords to major accounts (unlikely needed, but just in case). Very scary appeal to emotions here, keep your eyes peeled.

Caller: Bunch of Indians in Melbourne impersonating an eBay Call Centre This number is fraudulent and is a bunch of curries with really, REALLY, bad English trying to impersonate an eBay Call Centre. Do not give them your details under any circumstances. They have been reported to eBay. Also, everytime the same people keep changing their names and forgetting what name they used the previous time hahaha. Really?? Too stupid to even remember.
