THIS IS A SITUATION THAT I NEVER WANT TO EXPERIENCE AGAIN...I AM SO FURIOUS...NOW HEAR WHY...
I suffer from MDD(Major Depressive Disorder) and was told by Mid West CAT Team(at 5pm) that they couldn't help me and that I would have to contact a GP (I am new to the area) and so I went to Primary Medical Centre at 7:30pm same day...now i have to say i was contemplating suicide because the meds i was on for 5-6months weren't working...the 1st doctor i saw told me that i would have to see the other doctor there because he didn't have enough knowledge about mental illness...the other doctor told me that i was on a dose of meds that was way too high and that i should be able to feel its effect...he told me that my problem was that i need to pull my socks up and get out with my partner and join some social group in the area and then i would feel better...now, if you know anyone with a mental illness or have it yourself, you would know that this sort of advice from a professional GP is bull you know what...then he was going to write out a prescription for a sedative...i already sleep 20 hours out of 24 why the hell would i need a sedative...then GP told me he couldn't help me and that i need to help myself...i was seething, so angry, crying, agressive and damn bloody mad...He is not fit to be working as a practicing GP if he sends a patient away who is in desperate need of help...i stormed out and my partner drove me to Sunshine Hospital...9 hours later we left disgusted and fed up with the whole medical system...and still nobody will help me...do i need to be another suicide statistic before anyone takes notice...if i was suicidal before, what doesn't that make me now...f***ed right off...IF YOU WANT TO BE GIVEN THE WRONG DIAGNOSIS OR INFORMATION THEN THIS IS THE RIGHT PLACE TO GO...VERY VERY POOR...
