Frustrated

I kept missing calls from a Luke at career placer trying to make me sign up for vet fee help and kept saying he would do my CV like he was doing me a favour. He rang me over and over and seemed quite rude and pushy. I thought legally companies could not call you more then once a day. He did not explain that the course was close to $17,000 I had to pay back to the government. He kept calling me 'mate" as well. I am not his mate and found it really unprofessional. What a crock of a company.

Cannot recall who I spoke to, but I was told the source of my details could not be disclosed due to the maintaining of my privacy. He was keen to tout about policy jargon, working in conjunction with government agencies and adhering to Australian law, etc. I was asked what sort of jobs I'd been looking for, I probed for the extent of my available details, they were few to none. When I basically laughed at the idea of me seeking a management role, he said he couldn't really help me, I hung up diplomatically. I have only applied for jobs via seek in the last three something years. On checking Seek's terms and conditions, there is't anything about them providing details to third parties, though they do make mention that they cannot guarantee the privacy of data through means of third party application forms. I suspect Career Placer have a false ad (at least on Seek) for which they use to fish for contact information. Watch what jobs you apply for. I'm in Eastern Adelaide.

Just received a call from San too. I kept asking him who gave him my contact details and he wouldn't say. Is there an ombudsman I can report these scammers to?

@ Sabine Chalmers - Labour Days in NSW and Victoria are about five months apart so "Tristan" wasn't misleading you on this.

On the number, I missed a call from (03) 8692 2400 today, ran the number through a search engine and ended up here. I now now it to be just the next in a series of suitors from Seek's contact list.

I've had two previous contacts from different organisations like this. The first organisation couldn't (or wouldn't) inform me of where they had sourced my info, and I only found out after a follow up letter from OTEN.

Questions from a second party (received last night 13/04/15) were formatted identically and, once I'd advised the caller of my suspicions, she admitted she was there to sign me to a course. The call diplomatically terminated.

Thanks to this site I now know what to expect.

I am in Perth and had a call today from this number. I got quite aggro at them and hung up. Similar to others, they asked if I had been looking for work online, and said they got my number from a recruiter, but they couldn't remember which one!!

I received a call from this number last Wednesday on my mobile and spoke to someone who was saying that he received my resume and that if I was still looking for a job, and that they would help me find a long term career opportunity. It sounded good and genuine however when he started talking that they were offering training courses through the commonwealth government Vet and if i was interested the course would cost around $45000 I surely felt that this sounds suspicious.
Today I received another phone call from Sam and just ignored it.
I am quite sure that these people are scammers and I would just block this number on your mobiles.

Thank you for letting me know about this too, actually. I just got a missed call from that number and I lived in Perth. I was wondering which Melbourne's company was calling so I tried looking up that number online. It looks like a scam or something to me. Thanks.

I had a voice mail from Luke from the Career Centre, asking for me to call him back. He called me later and started asking me questions which seemed to suggest that he was trying to sell me some diploma or certificate III or similar.

I then got an email from him asking me to fill out a survey. This is what he wrote:-

Hi Cameron,

Great talking before,

In order to get a deeper understanding of the types of roles you are best suited to, I would appreciate it if you could please fill out a quick survey (see link below) helping us to determine your personal career profile.

I had a missed call from (03) 8692 2400 and a message from Sam, asking if I was still looking for work to give him a call back on 1300 943 806 - I called back on the (03) number and spoke to Sam, he said my details were passed on top them (Career Placer???) and that they can help me out, he started asking me personal questions and employment history, I asked who passed on and what was passed on, he was very vague and started to stumble with his words because I was asking him too many questions, I suggested he get back in contact with who ever passed on my details and speak to them about getting all my history before wasting my time, he hung up on me LOL

I don't just give any information over the phone to whoever, I wasn't born yesterday, I know how scammers and fraudsters work. TRY AGAIN AND GOOD LUCK

Just had a call from "Stephen" saying he has noticed I have been looking for work online and what I most recently applied for. He asked about my work experience and seemed pushy. I replied that if he can see my details and resume then he should know what experience I have. He was quick to hang up... Very strange...

Spoke to Tristan about employment; he said that I was referred to them by Seek.com. I was surprised that they'd rung me on Labour Day from Melbourne but Tristan stated that Labour Day did not apply to Victoria. Is he having me on? I received an email also from the following address: news @ pmt.promolikes.com. Not sure if this is for real.... Very strange indeed.

I had a phone call from this number offering me employment advice. The company is in Melbourne and I am in Sydney. Very suspicious about this. I am curious as to how they got my details as I don't remember sending it to them.
