Scammers trying to get information from gullible / vulnerable people. Three calls today, when I finally answered they asked for my name (which I had to repeat twice), then wanted my date of birth and Drivers Licence number to confirm my identity!
When I asked why they needed to confirm my identity, I was advised by "Thomas" (who has a remarkably thick Indian accent) that he was from a company that could save me money on my home telephone account.
When I told him that I did not have a home telephone account, he basically called me a liar - he told me that "everyone has a home telephone number". Quite persistent, asking why I didn't want to save money on my home telephone account. I hung up when he wouldn't (or couldn't) spell the name of the company he was representing or tell me which city in Australia he is working out of.
Why don't I want to save money on my home telephone account? Probably because I don't have one.

Got a mad Indian sounding fool on the phone just now... spoke so fast could hardly understand him. (His supervisor needs to throw him back into the training pool : How to pretend not to sound Indian again. Hmm....how much do their voice coaches get?....maybe a career change for me). I was busy at the time, thought it might be something she knew about and handed it over to the wife, he heard her voice and hung up. I've got plenty of time on my hands to muck this sucka around.

I have blocked this number and they call me on another. Today it was a indian sounding man called Ryan. He refused to say the company name clearly and ignored my request to be quiet. He said he was selling phone and internet services. Next time he calls tis a whistle to the ear that he is getting.

I get a weekly call from this number; I had another one today and each time they mumble the business name so I can't understand; only last week I was lucky enough to catch their name and look up their website. They persist for info on what kind of products I currently have and they insist I have a home phone service through Telstra- I do not have a home phone from Telstra or anywhere else- and they insist that Telstra gave them my personal information. Funnily enough they call me on my prepaid Telstra mobile. Anyway I am writing a letter to them asking them not to call anymore.

Numerous calls and when one number blocked they use another. Just keep blocking hoping that they'll run out of numbers.?

Keep ringing several times a day. When they first called they said they're from Telstra and offering to give me cheaper calls. Definitely not from Telstra or they would have known what plan I was on. Also asked for my licence number!!

They called, and immediately put my mother on hold, telling her she was in the queue. She got to #1 in the queue after 2 hours, and then they hung up. I've tried explaining to mum that these are scammers and just to hang up in future.

called me this morning, lots of background noise of people talking (Telemarketers). A Automatic message of a computerised womens voice came up saying "You have been chosen for this conference" and then hung up. Calling on the mobile phone and have called several times stating the same thing regarding internet, home phone etc. They also pretend to be from Telstra (They call you the first time saying they are from Telstra then you say sorry im with Optus, they say oh sorry and hang up, They call again later and say that they are with Optus and try to hook you up with their latest deal and confirm your address, date of birth, email address, license details, credit card etc) Avoid them at all costs.

The call I got, they said they were from Telstra about my plan. I knew something was wrong as they would have known i already had a plan if the call was legit. So when I said I could hear him for all the noise in the background he hung up.

Must be a scam! They called my mobile number. He ha a very strong accent, when I asked him to repeat the company name he said he was calling me in regards to my landline and adsl internet connection. I don't have either. He said "you don't have a phone connected to your house?" I said no, asked for the company name again and he thanked me and ended the call.

Had a call from this number. He had an accent, called himself Thomas. When I asked for his surname he said 'Roger Thomas'. I then asked for the company and he replied that he was calling about our internet access. I told him that I do not know a Roger Thomas. He said again he was calling about our phone line and every time added 'Alright' in a rather aggressive tone. I hung up as obviously we are not with his company and as the one we are with does not make unannounced anonymous calls.
