Caller: Claimed to be DHHS, but it is a confirmed SCAM! (03) 8624 4051 is definitely a scam . I went to the DHHS Melbourne website, called DHHS/Corona Hotline and they informed me that this is indeed a scam. I would suggest that you call the DHHS/Corona Hotline in order to confirm. Do NOT give them any of your details!

Is it possible you're just a racist and presume anyone calling you with an Indian accent is trying to take your money?

Caller: Department of Human Health and Services Didn't answer the number, but it was followed by a SMS from DHHS about a travel permit to enter Victoria, and a reminder to get tested within 72 hours of return and self quarantine until I received a negative test result. Seems legit as I had got an orange zone permit a few weeks ago. But, restrictions changed by the time I did travel which made testing and self quarantine unnecessary, and I had a new permit by that time, so they obviously haven't updated their system to reflect this.

Caller: (03) 8624 4051 This IS a scam. If it were legitimate, why are fakers getting on here (essentially a scam-watch website) writing it is not a scam? Someone else has also inferred this. Think. If you were called legitimately, would you come here to report the call as legitimate? Why would you waste your time, unless you are in on the scam? If you think some are here to be charitable, how does that correlate with the reports of suspicious questioning from those using this number? Play it safe. Ignore/block this number ... unless you want to entertain yourself baiting them. For the record, I first got a text from "DH-COVID19" advising of an imminent call from "(03) 8624 4051". Why not simply ... (03) 8624 4051? Naturally I didn't answer the call.

There seems to be the same commenters on this site posting across all of the 'number look-up' sites with the same messaging to trust this number. Which ironically makes me not trust the number. Surely DHHS is more savvy than this, which makes me believe it's a scam.

Caller: Jake from the DHHS I received a text and a call from this number - did not seem like a hoax and still unsure if it is - he gave me lots of information and telephone numbers to call for further information relating to payment claims and he also gave me a CRM number. He also took my address & some other personal details. If this is a scam the DHHS will be chasing their arses as no one will respond to the text and phone call they are supposed to do on a daily basis (which they arent)!!!
Obviously, I tried to call back the DHHS now but it long waits - took me an hour and a half to get through to them the other day. FFS!
Next thing the people turning up at our doors will be scoping out our houses. What's the world coming to when you cant trust no one!!!

I am getting up to 9 sms messages a day telling me someone will contact me on this number and to be 'prepared to receive a call from the Department of Health' So far after 4 days of text no call has come. Seems sus especially when I call the number get an automated message that someone has tried to contact me. No option on phone to block number either as there is for normal messages. Any ideas how to stop these texts would be appreciated

2nd contact from this number apparently to book me in for my second pfizer vax. Last night I told them I had already had both vaccinations and ended the call. They have tried to make contact again today.
I'm suss as my vaccinations were done at work and I have never contacted the DHHS about it.

I'm not a racist, I'm also Indian from India, and sadly, most calls with an Indian accent are scammers, makes me feel ashamed to be an Indian. Makes me wonder why I never receive calls with Irish or Italian accent.

Got an SMS saying they will call me about my vaccination appointment. I don't know if scam or not but the scam watch website clearly says "Don’t give personal information to someone who calls you about the vaccine." https://www.scamwatch.gov.au/types-of-scams/current-covid-19-coronavirus-scams/covid-19-vaccination-scams

Not legitimate. DHHS customer service confirmed this was most likely a scam call and not to interact.
Unsure as to how they are getting everyone's personal details though? Would be good if DHHS had a scamwatch section on their website for citizens to quickly confirm that it is a scam.

Caller: 8624-4051 I'm torn with this number, they called me once but after a couple of minutes it felt sketch so I hung up, they've called me 3 times since then but I've missed their calls. They called some others I know. When they contacted me I was told it was Victoria Health, but when they called someone else I know they said they were Western Public Health and all seemed to check out, so I don't know if their number is being spoofed or something.
