these people call claiming to be AGL, this is not AGL, they are scam callers

Introduced as they are from AGL. Offered a discount and asked the address and email.

Caller: Scam (Claiming to be AGL)

Claimed to be AGL, know my first name, suburb, but asked to give them more details, overseas clearly, told her to tell me my details and account number, also suggested to email me the details of the saving coming my way. Then she hung up

Caller: AGL

Had a missed call so I called back. The recording said AGL so I waited and got on to a real person. They said it was a courtesy call about my account, confirmed the account details from my phone number by asking my name and address then offered to put me on their new plan with a cashback. They were legitimate AGL

I thought the same thing. Asked them to call me back in 15 minutes. I called the number and it was AGL. They were ringing to give me a further discount on my plan. Glad I took the call now.

Same as everyone below - I am actually with AGL but I'm at work right now. They had my name, suburb and postcode and wanted clarification of my street and street number. Said I was too busy and for them to email me if they wanted to tell me something and she hung up. I guess they take the chance that a certain percentage of their callers are actually with AGL.

Claim to be AGL. New first name and suburb - wanted more details. They hung up when I said they know enough already since they called me

Got a call today 11/12/2018, lady on the other end only asked me to confirm my date of birth and knew all of my account details. Confirmed my plan and asked me if I was happy with AGL, I said I was fine and we hung up. I called AGL straight away and they confirmed that it is a legitimate call from them

Very suspicious call.
Lady claiming to be from AGL energy checking up to see how my account was. Then offering a new savings deal. When I said I wasn’t interested at the moment she said “why don’t you want to save money?” I replied with “I just like to read through everything first” she then hung up!
If it were a legitimate call she would have told me where to find the information to read through

I have just received a call from this number. I didn’t say anything and it sounded like the person I muted their end and I could hear a toddler squealing, then a girl say “Oh sh!t”. Then it muted again and they hung up not long after. At the same time I started getting these calls I also receive calls from a Private Number who never leave a message.

Caller: Scam pretending to be Agl

I got a call from a lady claiming to improve my deal with Agl. It was an interstate call. She couldn’t tell me my last name or my address. She couldn’t even tell me my bill number. I rang Agl who confirmed that it was a scam and they hadn’t contacted me.

Caller: A man called saying he was from AGL, American accent. (03) 8613 9206

I thought it was regarding smart meters, which I don't want, but he wanted to know if
I was happy with my AGL account, and wanted to go into a big conversation about this.
I was cooking, so told him to ring me back in 15 mins. Then I checked this site, as I am
not in good health, and didn't want some bogus caller. That number did
rang back again, I didn't answer. He didn't leave a message.

Caller: A lady purporting to be from AGL, She knew my name and wanted my other details

I did not give her any other details and I asked her to tell me my account number and my address, she said that she had it in front of her including my address, so I asked her again to tell me MY address, but no she did not want to give me my address. so I hung up, I am on do not call, so much for that.

one of many calls in the last few days, I got so angry called them a bunch of F@#ing moronic amateurs, because so sick of these calls and they always have an accent and they talked right over the top of me, even abuse didn't work LOL..Blocking the calls is the only option really

Caller: AGL Scam

I just recieved a call from these guys claiming to be AGL.

They confirmed my name and address then requested my account number/ details to determine "what savings i'd be eligible for".

He was pushy and sounded very unprofessional.

I hung up on them.

Still calling purporting to be AGL.

Just got a call from them whilst I am in Vietnam with my phone turned off so no issue. Worth noting they are still trying!
