Spam phone call from people called Smoke Alarms Australia - ignore. Check with real estate if they've been in touch to arrange an inspection. This is a scam

Following up on my last post.
Real estate agent has not contacted me - TOTALLY SPAM!!!

I called back number (03) 8566 8862 reached voice mail for a company called smoke alarms australia.

It's a legit company that's contracted by your real estate property manager to check your smoke alarms on their behalf. They look like scammers because of their stupid business practices.

This number called my mobile phone at 5:40PM, claiming to have been asked by my personal real estate manager to create a SMOKE ALARM TEST for the next day.

Told them that I will only accept calls regarding my home from my real estate agent ONLY.

The (03) 8566 8862 person on the phone told me they will tell my agent to call me personally to book an inspection.

Awaiting a call from my agent. I don't expect one though. Calling bullsh*t on this one. SPAM.

Only your real estate will send PHYSICAL PAPER LETTERS to you before they even try calling you.

If this company asks you to pay money over the phone HANG UP IMMEDIATELY, REPORT THE NUMBER, and call your estate agent. Hope this helps.

Not spam. I contacted my real estate agent and found smoke alarms australia are trying to make a booking with me

They call up to three times a day even though I've said I'm out of the State for the rest of the month and to call next month.

This is a scam. They first try and contact you on different mobile phone numbers with different contact names. When that fails they try the number listed here. Do not reply to them.

So I got a call from this number, it's for the fire alarm, so she goes "Can i schedule you for tomorrow morning at 6:45AM and will you be home" that's not even a 24hour notice.

This all sounds so familiar

Yes, I am receiving calls from these nuisances, also a Sydney number claiming to be the same crowd. I don't answer numbers I am unfamiliar with. They also send msgs, which of course I do not reply to.

They are the biggest liars! they have left me without a smoke alarm for 4+months as they can't get anyone out.

BEWARE THIS IS A SCAM!!!
The number claims to be from Smoke Alarms Australia and says that the real estate agent has asked them to set up a time for a fire inspection.

I stated that the strata for my building has engaged a different provider to conduct fire inspections and refused to provide access. The person started arguing with me stating the landlord had already paid. I said that they could take it up with the real estate agent and hung up.

They called again two days later attempting the same thing. This time I called the real estate agent to confirm and they said that they had already received an invoice for service from them despite the fact no such service has been provided because I refused to provide access.

I have now been receiving non-stop texts from different mobile numbers from people claiming to be from SAA. I have made a formal complaint to SAA, which has a different contact number on its website, waiting to hear back.

They called so many times for alarm check which no one requested for it. I am in sydney and they kept calling from a Melbourne number.

It's a Smoke Alarms company telling me that my landlord wants to get the alarms checked. I don't live there anymore!

These people are consistently harassing me- calling a number of times a week and sometimes 2-3 times a day in relation to doing a smoke alarm check at a property I no longer live in- they have also texted me asking me to call them- I texted them back to let them know I don't live in this property anymore but they continue to call- who do you send complaints to about these people?!!

Dodgy buggers can still leave voice mails even though I have their number blocked

This is "Smoke Alarms Australia" but when you try to call them back, they never ever answer! Leave them a message and takes them approx 4-6 weeks to call back. So if you want to speak to them make sure you answer their call, or you'll have a very long wait.
