I have been getting this annoying phone number (03) 8354 6904 calling me at least three times a day and night and when i go to answer they hang up on me. I just wish they would stop ringing my home number .

Calls keep coming from indian speakers - It is a scam. I finally decided to see what they are trying to sell - problem is they aren't selling anything, they are after your identity. Beware.
They say they are called Smart Utility - Calling on behalf of Energy Australia and can provide a 16% electricity bill and $50 one of discount. Once the female realised I want in, a man then took the call over.
He tried to confirm my details. I was surprised he knew my surname, address, home phone line (they keep calling my mobile and yet he thought he was speaking to me on a landline which I have no phone connected too). I told him the information was incorrect and provided him with fake name, fake address, fake phone number etc. They then asked for an electricity bill after a MEI number - again I provided a fake one and to my surprise they told me it's listed to a separate address. Now I tried to leave the conversation, satisfied that I had wasted their time, and they continued to try and get an MEI number. My suspicion is they were after a license number next. Identity theft - BEWARE!

If you want them to stop, you have to use the old poison gift method. Pick up and let them ramble on while you do something else. They will then ask you for your first name and date of birth. Do not give your real details. Pick a name with the same initial (I like to use an Indian one for the irony), and a completely different DOB. Go back to what you were doing while they tell you what a good deal you are getting. When they try to use your details, they will fail. After a couple of tries they will realise their time is being wasted.

been calling me for a few weeks. answered once and spoke to some fella with an Indian accent who was promising the same 15% off your energy. sounded like a scam. asked him if he could prove his offer was legitimate by confirming some of my details and he hung up. I'd really like to know how these people got my details. I don't give out my number to anyone except for friends and places I have accounts with. have placed them on my do not call list, but remember to always ask them to supply your details before you give out any info to confirm they aren't scammers.

This number called me asking for someone by the name I did not no, after telling the girl that she had the wrong number she got real rude and snappy saying that she did have the right number and she demands to speak to the right person and just continued being rude.. I blocked the number right away.

Sick of these people I will see how they like it now that I have put their number in my auto reject list, best feature to have on a mobile phone

They say they have issued them a warning so the more people who complain the better.
When they call ask them what company they are from and what the address is, under the law they have to tell you that. It is also illegal for marketers to use "private numbers". If you are on the "Do Not Call" register tell them that - and that you are going to make a complaint.
That usually stops the calls for a few days!

I'd like to throttle these idiots. They claim to be from Telstra but clearly are not. Try stringing them along for a while then call them out. They get really sh*tty and rude.
Trouble is, a different person then rings back at another time. Bloody annoying!!

Is Telstra doing anything about these scammers who claim to work for? Clearly Telstra are being misrepresented.

Called me and claimed to be from Telstra. Had me fooled for a while since they had more details about me than would be in the phone book. But then wanted me to sign up for a GoPhone which they said is a Telstra subsidiary - crap I thought - and they hung up on me when I asked difficult questions.

They have called me claiming to be from Telstra and know details that are not in the phone book. Also, mine is a new number. After telling me what a great deal they can do they wanted me to sign up with Go Phone. Obviously scammers pretending to be from Telstra but are not. A 03 number but both guys had strong Indian accents so may be a front number for Indian call center. How to find out more?

These people will not stop calling... 21 calls in a week, its telemarketing for a company called sleek tel... even when i have rung sleek tel directly the calls have not stopped and if i tell them i am not interested they abuse me and hang up.... to call back again 30 minutes later... I have had enough seriously I am that close to changing my phone number its not funny

I told this snotty bitch Christina that there is no way in hell im handing out my details to an overseas call if she cannot identify herself first SINCE SHE IS CALLING ME!. scammers...dont tell them a thing. This is a private landline which i have never given to ANYONE. I question the dodgy phone company DODO im with as to how these people got my number. She called straight back... my response was not very nice at all. BURN IN HELL. the solution is simple....An unplugged phone cannot be called or answered.

These freaks are really annoying. They never stop ringing usually in the afternoon usually 3 -4 times but sometimes up to 7 or more times a day. If anyone can work out a way to stop them please do us all a favour and do it!
