Caller: Not sure I was on the phone when I heard the call waiting, I missed answering it so I called the number back to see who it was & it failed to connect so clearly a scam. So sick of getting them from various numbers & places!

Scammer from this number. When I accused the Indian accented man of being a scammer he got very angry, denied it and had proof it was a genuine call from NBN to connect me (I am already connected) I hung up.

Got an SMS saying I had missed a call from this number and mentioned call catcher which I have had disabled since for ever so I knew it was a scam caller. The Google pixel also said "suspected spam" message. I blocked the number and thought I'd report it here as well.

He hung up on me when I laughed at him and told him I was googling the number for scam reports. Claimed to be from Telstra, needed my Internet licence number for the big server that Telstra owns that all ISPs go through.

Caller: (03) 7020 5650 Ha ha, that's a classic. "Ding Dong, it's Avon calling". Avon cosmetics closed shop in Australia in 2018. Even the Avon tyres (famous in drag racing) stopped being exported here as well.

Caller: (03) 7020 5650 Typical shonky scammers. I always answer in one of my families 2 foreign languages (just using the usual one word greeting used in that country - and it isn't anything to do with "Yes" which they could use fraudulently). I then get a "Goodbye", obviously stolen from Telstra's actual recording system, and it hangs up.

Caller: Scammer. These parasites have started calling us several times a day, we do NOT answer. Unfortunately the authorities allow VoIP numbers to be located ANYWHERE even in foreign countries so the D.N.C. does NOT apply. Whilst logic would say the number is in Victoria it isn't, it is likely ported to India. Porting outside Australia should be banned!!!!!

Going by all the comments here, this number is in a pool of numbers that a scamming call centre uses for a variety of their nefarious dealings. Did not answer and will now block. Thank you Social-Media Man!!

Gotta give props to this post:
Anonymous December 18, 2019 They call at least 3 times every day. They claim to be Telstra. Heavy Indian accent. They humg up when I said I was an emergency line and they needed to give me their 8 digit access code. When they tried to give me one (hahaha) I then said misuse of this emergency line would be traced to their location and they would be individually fined &100,000. They stuttered, said they had the wrong number and hung up. (Lions 1, Gladiators Nil)
