They are NOT A SCAM people. They were able to give me a detailed account of what I owed & why. I was suspicious at first however after he gave me certain details of late returned movie titles & dates I can confirm that it's OK.

I don't have any unsettled accounts. Definite giveaway was text came through with word IMPORTANT rather than a phone number. No details of who the debt was with!

The company does debt collection for Video Ezy stores and use your mobile phone number that you provide when joining as a member to contact you in relation to outstanding amounts.

Odd. First time I've ever received a an anonymous 'outstanding account' message from 'Important' rather than phone number. Can't think of anything it could be but I'm wary of calling in case it's a scam.

Why is there NOTHING in the media noting Video ezy are colleting debts by text message? Why is the text message not addressed personally. Why is the text message sent from 'OUTSTANDING' with no phone number attached. Why IF there is a debt, was it not collected BEFORE the business went under? Why would I receive a text from this business when I have not visited the store in years?
Why is the website for the 'Legal and Commercial' so dodgy? The link to the privacy statement does not work, and the images are all blurry. Seems pretty dodgy to me. Last 'media' is from 2013. A legitimate business would not portray themselves in this manner.

I have had two texts from this number in the last couple of days with the heading OUTSTANDING - Saying I have and outstanding balance at Video Ezy Phillip. I have never even been to this store.

So glad I checked the number out here - definitely a scam !

Caller: Escalation

"Lee you have ignored all points of contact as a result there is a default pending call 03 59 642474 and quote #1581873". Facts 1. Firstly I am female not male 2. I have only had this new SIM card bought with phone from Woolworths for a month 3. Their message was not from a phone number but a word "Escalation". 4. It has to be a scam as they are incorrect on all details!

Seems legit to me. ABN checks out. They left 2 messages.
Our video store recently closed and I knew I had a small fee there from late return. I’ll update once the amount comes out of my account or if I’ve been scammed.

Scam, all the way, sending me a text that I owe money to a video store I have never stepped foot into , let alone lived in the area. plus its not very professional sending a text. blocked and deleted

i was so sceptical when i got one but thought i would ring it the guy there was so helpful i asked a few questions why doesnt it give information in the text and he said due to privacy laws in case its not the correct mobile they cant disclose about a debt unless they are speaking to the right person they actually had an incorrect mobile so once that was established he removed my number i have had another one since he also stated majority of video store will use a third party to collect oustanding late fees when they close and even sometimes even when they are trading. they appeared legit and eager t help me this is not a scam

Definitely dodgy. Keep receiving texts - 'Official documented warning'. All the usual language like 'delinquent' and 'escalated'.
Asked them to contact me via email, and never heard from them.

I keep getting demands via a tx ,never leave a voice msg. I believe it's a scam. Why would the video shop not call in the first place? My video has been broken 4 five years. It's a joke.

I have had 2 txt's with another persons name attached , did stupid thing replyed to inform of incorrect name an possible number error , Guy answering phone new my name and said he'd correct details and that my number had been recycled ? .contacted service provider , there response was ( impossible ) we don't recycle numbers . there number will be plagued by nuisance calls all coming week . Seems like a case of info hacking to me .

I agree with Ricky, they had correct details about myself and movies that I had rented.

At the bottom of their website it show's the ABN number. If you go to http://abr.business.gov.au/ and look up this ABN number, it all checks out. Seems legit to me if a government website can confirm it.

I have also received a stupid message from this number. SCAM ALERT!! Just ignore it and delete the message - I hope it cost them a text message fee :)

They are the real deal. just spoke to them. It was an old video store account in Nowra that I had forgotten about. He was a nice guy.
