ATO calling to collect delinquent dues
Got a Robocall from a private number quoting this number for a return call. Claimed to be the ATO (in a very non-Australian accent) and said I have been identified as having delinquent accounts, and to avoid a warrant for my arrest, I should call back to arrange payment. Scam.

Scam, automated message claiming to be from tax office but clearly not.

I received a voice message on my phone telling me I was not complying with tax requirements, that correspondence sent to me had been returned, and a warrant would soon be issued for my arrest. I was told to call this number. The accent was foreign, and it sounded like a computer generated call as there were no personal specifics mentioned, and the message started with a muffled "National do not call list".

Called and ripped in to me, very verbally abusive. Told me I was being done for tax evasion and I owed a fortune in tax. Told me that I had better get a lawyer as soon as possible because there was now a warrant out for my arrest.

Message left on home phone regarding "tax evasion and avoidance" threat of "warrant for arrest". NO reply (not a valid phone number) when I called back.

Says account is blocked because of returned mail about tax avoidance. Has been going on for months.

Same scenario re tax evasion. So, must be a scam to get unsuspecting people to part with valuable info or money!

I got a call from this number a few minutes ago, but let it go through to voicemail. The message was quite detailed with stuff about attempts to contact me at my registered address and mail sent there that has been returned marked 'not at this address'. I was inclined to take it seriously as we have recently moved and maybe not all addresses have been updated. Also, I have had a query about my 2014 tax return recently that came via my accountant, so was initially concerned. The message also made mention of unpaid debts and delinquent accounts and that our address and phone number were under surveillance. The caller didn't identify himself or the company so I figured it was dodgy. I also googled the number and found a few websites mentioning the same experience. I won't bother calling back, since it seems to be a scam.

I got call from this number. Automated message about your tax. Scam! Don't bother returning call.

Called me as well, and says I'm from TAX office, call us back urgently.

Scam bigtime says I am on do not call register then says something about ato and me having a warrant for my arrest then says my number is being tracked etc

Threatening legal action for unpaid debts. We have no outstanding debts. They even left a message on the answering machine which was extremely frightening as to the action which would be taken if we didn't call them back.

SCAM!! Recorded message saying ATO tax avoidance and I'm going to be arrested. Don't call them it's a SCAM.

leaving messages on answering machine claiming to be ATO claiming they are freezing my acciunts and there's a warrant for my arrest for tax avoidance. the "national hotline" number they keave to call back is a different number each time

Says I am a tax evader and there is legal action pending and I should call them. No thanks.
