I have sufficient funds and have been charged and scammed! (but refunded) I never subscribed to these scammers but got three sms’s. One from Walla Mobile ($5.99/wk) and one from iFortune ($15/mth) and I replied “stop” to both to unsubscribe. Then a week later I get another from Walla Mobile AGAIN for another $5.99! I got charged bloody $26.98 in a week. To see how to dispute this I went to: http://www.optus.com.au/shop/support/answer/premium-sms-or-content-services-faq-spend-control?requestType=NormalRequest&id=1761&typeId=5&_ga=2.72179219.1850221548.1515321530-70791921.1506152176 and straight away I got an Optus pop up to “live chat”. I told them the issue and was told these are "content services" not “premium services” activated by usually tapping on a pop up that we see on Internet. Intentionally or unintentionally we click on them and we are subscribed to it.. ? These are also 1900 or +19 numbers calls and text messages. (I reckon I tapped a pop up in a game I recently downloaded and got subscribed). The Optus dude straight away blocked content services on my account, raised a complaint over the charges and stated “the content service providers will give a call back in the next 2 business days and refund the amount to your account.” They did not get back to me so I called the service providers help line 1800 767 584 (about a 45sec wait) and was told the $26.98 had already been credited to my account. Don’t just reply “stop” to unsubscribe and accept these charges from these scammers. As I mentioned, I did this with Walla Mobile and a week later I was subscribed to them again? Report via live chat to Optus or call the help line is quick and easy and demand to be credited.

SCAM. Will send you texts and automatically charge you $5.45 each time you open SMS. report to Optus as I did. I have a feeling they are getting thousands of complaints. Also ask Optus how to ban "Premium Messaging" on your phone.

Clicked on a porn link and this sh*t automatically subscribed me to something I didn't want to have anything to do with. Says to text stop to unsubscribe so I did but it seems I was charged $6.82 for nothing.
Surely there's something that can be done about this bullsh*t

These b'stards are at it again. Complain to your service provider and demand that +19900007 be blocked. The content of the SMS is always the same - relating to 'iGirls' and 'PlayPlanet'. Only seems to happen on Optus/Amaysim/etc SIMs.

I kept getting the same message as others about insufficient funds from Waala mobile (I have NO IDEA who they are). I'm with iPrimus and they were no help, tried blocking the number on my phone but messages still came through so kept calling iPrimus with complaints and they pushed me onto Optus who were also no help at all. In the end I called the 1800 number on the text, entered my mobile number and pushed 1 to unsubscribe, then received a text saying I had unsubscribed so fingers crossed that's the end of it otherwise I'm ready to destroy my mobile and tell iPrimus to shove their account due to their non existent customer service. As far as I can tell I haven't been charged anything yet but very annoying receiving regular text messages about something I have never signed up for nor know what it is even about!

Right on about calling Optus to ban services, but was told they are "content services" not Premium!

How do you know you get charged when you open a text? Optus told me it was from tapping a "pop up" or calling a +19/1900 number???
