DLook is a very well created scam. When you investigate further, interestingly all the businesses they claim to be their clients, have URL's purchased in the DLook name. Some of the businesses DLook claims to have as their clients, I tried to check their websites and they require password access.

Obviously this company is creating fake business websites, fake Youtube client businesses, which don't really exist. When I looked up one of the supposed "businesses" they have done Search Engine Optimisation for - well yes their is a great looking website but when you telephone the company, a random person answers and then says oh yeah we are a training company. Then when you look up the business address (for this supposed Qld business) in google maps, it's an empty lot!

BIG SCAM - well crafted SCAM - steer very clear

Hi Asha,

I can assure you that we work with real businesses and that our results are real. But don't take my word for it. You can call some of our customers if you would like. www.thecookingroom.com.au/, www.stratacleaningeasternsuburbs.com.au/ we have thousands of customers who we manage sites for. Alternatively I can see you posted from Manly and you are more than welcome to visit our office at Level 8, 46 Market St, just opposite the QVB. Or feel free to call the number (02) 9290 2821 and you can speak to the receptionist or ask for me and I'd be happy to talk you through what we do and the real results we return for our customers. The sites you are talking about with passwords on them are ones currently under construction, I'm sure if you revisit them now you'll see they are complete.

Regards,

Sam

Janet my account manager called me 20 times from the wrong number which has a caller ID of "Telemarketer Domain Sales" with 84 spam reports registered by the Truecaller app. When he says I can send "CANCEL" in an email to cancel my account, notice he doesn't say he will give a refund.

"The options you have for your 12-month $440.00 renewal are as follows.

You can choose to:

1. Do nothing, and your will account will automatically rollover on 29/04/2018.

2. Talk to your account manager or the Sydney office about how we can upgrade your service or improve your performance.

3. Cancel your subscription by logging into your customer dashboard or replying to this email - dLook requires 30 days notice.

You should also receive a call from your account manager within the week to discuss your renewal options. Please let us know if you have any questions or queries and we'll do our best to answer them right away."

I didn't reply by email but instead tried to cancel with the account management page. There isn't any email sent by the account page confirming I requested to cancel. Very suspect website mechanics.

This is the response from the manager:

While I wasn’t privy to the conversation you had with Janet I can say that I’m sure if she checked her records she would have been able to recall the conversation you had a month ago. That’s why we keep records. She does have your account’s best interest in her mind which is the reason she called you 20 times to see if you wanted to continue or not. It’s ridiculous to claim that we would do business the way you are suggesting. You’ve also ignored the fact that I offered you a refund and you ignored the fact that as stated in the email you can cancel your account by sending a one word response to the email saying CANCEL.

I normally wouldn’t respond to an email like the one you’ve sent because it’s just a bunch of ridiculous claims and me responding is not going to have any improvement in mutual understanding but in this case I feel the need to show you how outrageous it is to believe that we would continuously go out of our way to contact you to see if you want to cancel as a ruse in the hope that you don’t actually ever answer or check your voicemails or respond to the emails you sent us. It’s in fact so farfetched as to be crazy. The reason we have auto-rollovers is actually to protect the customer’s domains for them. We developed the system after we had many customer sites being registered by other entities when they didn’t renew on time because they didn’t respond to emails or weren’t answering their phones. It was a response to a problem our customers were experiencing. I’m hoping we’ll be able to learn something out of the way your renewal has been conducted so we can improve the process for all of our customers again. I’m disappointed to hear that you now believe we stole money off you but I can certainly understand how from your perspective it may feel that way.

One productive outcome of this exchange is that you can respond to this email asking me to cancel the service. That way regardless of how the current dispute goes we won’t have to go through with it again.

Again I hope you have a good week.

Sam Elliott

So there you have it. I'm so confused right now, instead of offering a refund because I don't need to renew he forces me Into sending another email asking me to say What I have already said over the phone all along regarding a renewal. to quote myself "I'm not interested in another year of Premium account because I can't afford it".

Anyway I think this guy could not be bothered with refining his website, the wording of the Terms and Conditions to include basic human rights, changing the account page display when there is a pending request to CANCEL or to change to a free listing and finally, there is not any email sent by the system to confirm that there even is a request to CANCEL the premium account setting.

I'm still not sure whether or not he will give a refund as I have decided to do it through the bank, but after the way I was treated, I can't see any alternative. Please Elliott, get back to me with some clarification on what you are going to do about this.

Regards Isaac

Hi Mel,

It's interesting to hear your feedback about our call centre. When you say our staff are terrible are you referring to your friends or people they worked with? I can see from your comment that not only have you never worked for us, you've never been a customer nor ever stepped foot in our office. Other than your friends who were terrible and supposedly worked for us you have no connection. Seems strange that you would go out of your way to post this review based on that. Why don't your friends who actually worked for us post the review? Not to mention this site is designed for people called by the number above, which we all know is not the case for you. If you wish to air your friends grievances to us I'm more than happy to speak directly to you, call me on (02) 9290 2821 or email me at info @ dlook.com.au. But if you'd prefer to just stick to an irrelevant and erroneous review online then I completely understand.

Dlook service sucks. Your staff is also terrible. I have friends in the Philippines who worked in your call center and your internal staff from what I've heard is crap. Mainly your management. Don't do business with this company.

Hi Alecia,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Although, we have sorted out your issues and while you decided not to go ahead with the website and pulled out of our package a few weeks into it, you did receive a full refund so I think this case is resolved. The price you were offered was our promotional price for $550, as you can see the $990 retail price advertised on our website www.dlook.com.au. If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to let me know.

Hi Frank,

I would be happy to talk to you in person if you'd like to come into our office? I can assure you that we work with real businesses and that our results are real. But don't take my word for it. You can call some of our customers if you would like. www.thecookingroom.com.au, www.stratacleaningeasternsuburbs.com.au, we have thousands of customers who we manage sites for. I'm also free to talk on our number (02) 9290 2821. We are aware of some fake reviews on a fake Truelocal listing (a competitor of ours) that we never put up. I encourage you to come and visit us or talk to some of our customers for a better idea about what we could do for your business.

I do appreciate all your comments about Dlook. They started calling me since a few days ago. I was about to pay $550 for listing my business online to be found. But I hold myself to search for some reviews about this company before paying them. After reading all above reviews I know now what to do. Once again, thank you all.

Hi Ode,

We have been running a promotion on a two page website, video and logo design for $550 for a while now. It is true that you can put a listing up for free on our directory just like any directory. We do also sell an adwords service as well, although it's not our major product. Most people use us as an affordable entry into online advertising.
