Got a call from this number today on my mobile. Didn't answer, they left a voicemail saying that they were from Telstra regarding my NBN connection.
Have never contacted Telstra or any other NBN provider - I have Wireless WIFI.
The guy must've been near the end of his shift - he sounded like he was going to drop off to sleep real soon.

Caller said she was from Telsta checking on my nbn appointment but I had to supply her with my DOB and address details etc. I refused. She said I could call 1800 834 273 to confirm her legitimacy, didn't bother ... Do not supply any personal details unless you initiate the call. Blocked this number.

Got a phone call this evening from this number. I never answer any number I don't recognise but came on this site and saw these comments. I am sure it wasn't Telstra because they only sent me a message this morning confirming an appointment for connecting us up at our new address on Thursday when we move.

As per the previous message, NEVER give your date of birth to someone who calls you, even if you suspect it might be legitimate. Give your date of birth as identification only if you have initiated the call to a number that you know for sure is the correct number for the organisation you're calling.

it's usually the NBN case manager assigned to troubleshoot your connection. All ok.

In fairness, this is the Telstra Activation Team who ring you in regards to when you place an order for a new phone line.

Extremely inefficient complicated process however they get you to ring back on 1800 639 062

The caller claimed that she was from Telstra and was calling about my NBN. She asked me for my name and birth date. I replied asking her how I knew that she was from Telstra. She said that I could look the number up on google or that I could call back. I said that I would call back and I asked for a reference number. She said that she couldn't give me a reference number without my name and birth date. I tried to call the number back but it just clicks off and my call doesn't connect. I rang the Telstra Sales Watch Hotline on 1800 260 270. They said that they would call me back to confirm if this is one of their call centres. I haven't hear back from them so who knows. Sounds like a scam caller trying to get personal information.

I received a call from this number, but they hung up as soon as I answered. I rang the number, but it kept shutting down my call. How ignorant are they? Not happy Jan.

These people are very smart they happen to know my name and my mothers name. They claimed to be Telstra I didn't answer this call but they left me a voice message. Voice message suggested for me to phone them back in regards to my mothers home account. I knowing full well that Telstra never ask this of you simply deleted the voicemail caution Scammer for sure

Got a call from this number and a message left saying that its telstra checking if I have a connection. I'm not with Telstra and the simple fact that their phone call came through in the first place would indicate a connection!

I had a phone call from this number a few minutes ago asking for a Mrs Jeffries to tell her that NBN would be connected in the morning - could she speak to her. I said you are not from telstra - she kept insisting that she was - and I kept insisting that she wasn't. I asked her again who she was after and she said Mrs Phillips - I asked her do you know who you want? You have asked for two different people and if you were telstra you would know that this number does not belong to either of them. I am neither of these two people - so I believe it is a scam..

They rang to say that they need to discuss something with me but first they need to confirm my full name and date of birth... I refused to give that information out as I did not call them. They gave me the telstra NBN number to ring and said my case manager for a complaint needs to speak to me. I rang NBN and Telstra, neither said anyone had contacted me today... secondly, they said that when they ring you, then they do not need the DOB or full name... that is only when you ring them... I think this could possibly be a really elaborate scam..
