Caller: NBN supposedly

I have been bothered all day by continuous phone calls saying they are connecting me to NBN despite I have been on NBN for almost a year. Then another 2 calls came saying the technician was at my front door but no one there. Either a stupid mix up or a scam.

Caller: I believe it's Telstra

However, twice in two days I've answered it and they've hung up immediately. Annoying when I'm waiting for information from Telstra.

Must be a scam or they have the wrong number because I don’t have anything to do with Telstra

The number that this person was given to call back on is the 1800 number for the NBN contacts and queries. I was given that same number when I called Telstra today.

Got a missed call from this number and a 101 message. When I listened to the message it was some one with an accent that was hard to understand. Not bad for a communications company to employ people who can't communicate. She gave me a number to ring bacl 1800 834 273, option 2 then option 0. When I rang the number it was one of those interactive jobbies. There was no options available just this recording telling me to say what I wanted/ Well I did but she said she was sorry but that wasn't in her database. I told her to stick her database and rang back the original number. There she was again!!! I gave up

Asked for my DOB and I told them I don't need to verify who I am if they called me. Said they txt me a call back number, but nothing received.

Q: Hello it's Sandra from Telstra, is this Gillian ?
A: Yes
Q: We would like to discuss your connection to the NBN can you please confirm your Date of Birth?
A: No, can you please advise the purpose of this phone call?
Q: We would like to discuss your connection to the NBN can you please confirm your Date of Birth?
A: Do I sound like an idiot? I did not answer the phone "idiot speaking", would you like to tell me the actual purpose of this phone call ? Or is this a scam.... I feel like you might know what a scam is..... am I right ?

CLICK

NOTE: Conveniently I am actually getting my NBN connected this Friday. I would love to know how on earth they know who is now "nbn ready".

Is it a spammer? They called me on 7:40pm and I missed it. Will not call back unless they call me again.

I have blocked this number previously, & they rang tonight, going straight through to my voicemail. They say they are Telstra & left a number 1800 830 020 & a reference number to call back on...reeks of a scam as I am not the account holder of who the phone is registered to, so they have no reason to ring me...how are they getting to my voicemail if I have blocked this number from calling me?

I got a call from this number with a foreign accent advising me they were phoning me about a logged issue. They knew my name, but I replied I'm not a Telstra customer and I haven't logged an issue. Some silence followed. When I mentioned how could it be, my mobile was Boost, they said, oh yes Boost issue, now please note this call will be recorded and now verify your identity. My response was, um bye.

Now there is a remote possibility they were calling me because my Boost app on my phone did raise an error code the other day (and Boost is on the Telstra network), but I've never heard of a phone company being so pro-active, and there was no way I was verifying when they called me. Some companies warn us about phishing, some seem to try hard to emulate phishers, and this may or may not have been, who knows.
