After getting calls for weeks unanswered from this number and reading these comments I decided to play. I answered with grays psychic services and told him I knew why he was ringing. I think I surprised him when I said I had a car accident three months ago and was hoping he was going to help with the insurance for the 4 people I killed while talking on my phone while driving. He asked if I was driving now and I said yeah but don't worry I have Bluetooth. Then he babbled on so I played along. Then he asked for my account number to transfer the funds. Gave him random numbers and he started giggling. I asked what was funny and he said nothing was. I said the only funny thing is I have kept you on the line long enough for your call to be traced and the federal police now have his details. A quick hang up hahaha

When asked about the accident I said you mean the one my husband and son was killed in? Yes I was driving and I lost my whole family. I am still in shock I can't leave my house. How can you help me. He asked You lost your Husband and Son? Yes I said how are going to help me? He apologized and said never mind and hung up. It was like a scene from days of our lives =)

"The ACMA are at FAULT by not introducing a system to BLOCK these calls." These calls originate overseas, with computer generated fictitious numbers so they cannot be easily traced or blocked.
Another caller testing my block filter and confirming that it works perfectly.
Many calls originate overseas from computers using fake numbers so complaining to Telstra will not solve the problem.
If you want to block nuisance calls like this one, you now have the option of buying a phone from a Telstra Shop that can do this, it is called the Telstra Call Guardian 301. The phone is well worth the investment. Numbers you block will hear the following message; “Calls to this number are being monitored by Telstra Call Guardian; The person you are trying to contact is not accepting your calls, so please hang up”. Callers you place in your contacts list will get through as usual but anyone with a private or hidden number or a number that is not in your contacts list will hear this message; “calls to this number are being monitored by Telstra Call Guardian; Please state your name and then press # and we will connect your call”. You will then have the option of either accepting or rejecting the call.
Other devices such as Fritz!Box modem router also have call blocking features.

Got the same call today, guy with Irish accent, played along and said that's strange as my car is a fleet vehicle and they arrange it all. He was "oh yes they referred your case". Funny I said I work for the Australian government and they do this stuff in house - he hung up pretty quickly after that!

I've have 5 calls from this number.. same deal...accident insurance rubbish. I've only had a minor incident with a couple of kangaroos and doubt they filed anything (don't believe them if they did, kangaroos are known to be liars...it was definitely THEIR fault). I told the pleasantly spoken English accented guy that he should be ashamed of himself for trying to scam people and to go and get a real job. Hung up.

The person who called me didn't make much sense. Very poor communication skills and a harsh accent made for a laughable conversation. I managed to hear 'car accident last year'...I questioned that man for a bit and he ended up hanging up.

I just had one of these calls. He tried to tell me he was from Newcastle. I told him I havnt been involved in an accident and I am on all do not call registers. He tried to stir me up. I won't say what I actually said but informed him to stop calling from overseas and to have a good Australia Day. We need to be able to stop these call easier. Pricks
