I called back the number (02) 9165 4923, rang and got disconnected automatically

For heaven's sake, doesn't it cross the minds (however limited they may be) of these serial pests that the reason their unsolicited and unwelcome calls are never answered, no matter how often they intrude on my privacy, is that I may actually not want to speak to them? The number's blocked. How many times are they going to persist before they get it?

I got a call from this number this evening and was ready to answer it - I screen all calls from unknown numbers now - but they caller hung up as soon as the answering machine greeting message started. They obviously didn't want to speak to me at all, so it would have been much better if they hadn't phoned.
