This number phones me almost every day ... I never answer because I refuse to give charity over the phone . There's no certainty that they are who they claim to be .. I have marked their number as NUISANCE!....,

THEY CALL ALL THE TIME!! SOMETIMES THE NUMBER IS SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT BUT ITS THE SAME GROUP, THEY ALWAYS ASK FOR A jOHN!!! SO WEIRD! i BLOCK THEIR NUMBER BUT THEN THEY CALL AGAIN FROM ANOTHER NUMBER WITH A SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT COMBINATION.

They claim to be collecting for any one of the volunteer organisations or the police but they aren't. They're complete scammers.

I don't know why they don't respect the DO NOT CALL register - but the SES are now permanently off my charity list.

Got this call the other day. Hung up on them. Don't know how they can reach a private landline phone number.

Yup they are scammers and appear to have breached my privacy by collecting both my mobile and landline numbers

They rang & when I answered, they hung up.

I followed up on this. 1300 707 344 is the SES volunteers information line. A young man explained that 02 911 29640 is indeed an outsourced charity firm on behalf of SES NSW. I explained:
1) We do not live in NSW
and
2) We have our own charities to which we donate and do not appreciate being pursued for $'s by charities not of our choice.
The helpful young man agreed to have our private, unlisted telephone number removed from their contact list.
Only time will tell if the above is productive for us or not.

What is Australia Post doing selling our PRIVATE NUMBER on to telemarketing services/fake charities? Where is the proof any charity which attempts to elicit $'s over the telephone is real? Disgraceful! Scammers now know to claim to be a Not For Profit Organisation to rape the loophole that Australia has allowed to develop. Yet another shameful, irritating annoyance innocent Australians have to deal with from an overseas managed organisation.

Someone saying they are raising money for the SES, however I am told that they have nothing to do with the SES.................................... so scam I guess.

I receive daily call from (02) 9112 9640 I don't answer it and they leave no message. From discussions on this forum, looks like telemarketers.

do not give to any of the charities now over the phone,there loss my gain through there arrogant callers the answering machine takes all the pain out of listening to all there bullsh*t

Another one of these so called charities grovelling for money,i now don`t donate to any of the charities at all over the phone now,they can all go to hell after what they did to the RFS i couldn`t give a sh*t now,we are bombarded every day on the TV and the phone they can all f*ck off the answering machine does the job and delete all there call with the push of one button

This is a telemarketing firm ringing on behalf of the SES. The reason they are still ringing even though you are on the do not call list is because charities are exempt from the conditions of the do not call register. Best to just let it go to your answering machine!
