Same routine here. Hung up as soon as I answered. Got another similar call yesterday but the number was (02) 8823 3004. Not convinced that this is genuinely charity calling. Perhaps its one of those call back scams.

Just got a call from this number. Have had this VOIP number for two years, and only two family members have it to ring me. I never ever get spam calls. I gave it out to a government agency in the last two weeks, and bam..I get this call! Co-incidence, or another case of the government selling what it can to claw back money?

I am in area code 08. So I ignore 02 calls cos' I don't know anyone over the other side of the rabbit proof fence. - simple

Whoever is behind that number has just been reported to police for spamming people's mobiles.

Called. Then silence, no voice, nothing. Hung up. It is obviously a machine calling and wasting my time. I shall TERMINATE it! ;-)

Seriously... with a charity, when the call back for real, simply tell them you do not give money out to an organisation who then uses much of your donation to pay some loser schmuck in a call centre to harass people and try to make them feel guilty enough to hand over the cash. If we get this message out often enough, those charities will stop using call centres.

Received phone call from this number, saying it is from emergency support something. and I said I wanted to hang up and he says it is rude. "It is a bit rude, isn't it?" He even asked me to agree on that. So, did I just have to hang up on him without telling him? His name was Rarry something. I don't understand why they think they can call and disturb personal peaceful time and they don't even give me an option of hanging up. He says it is rude.

So sick of these people ringing constantly. If I want to donate to a charity or change my phone provider, I'll look up the relevant number and ring them myself! And I bet I couldn't do at at 8.00 pm, like they do!! Puts me off donating.

call if from a Call Centre Australia (CCA) working on various charities - I got a call from a person asking for a donation to the SES but it depends on what campaign they are on and which call centre cell who calls you. They are exempt from the DNC Register as they are calling on behalf of a registered charity, - ANSWER - just say "NO" and tell them you will never answer any of their calls again and you will lodge a complaint with the client (SES, PCYC, Bush Fire Brigade, etc).

they are calling on behalf of the SES this time - but call on behalf of all sort of charities depending which call centre "cell" they are in and what campaign the are on. NB - you cannot block then as they are calling on behalf of legit charities therefore the DO NOT CALL REGISTER does NOT APPLY.

I am always very pleasant/interested & let them launch into their script then interrupt to advise I need to get pen & paper to ensure I don't miss any important details......At this time I then put the phone on the table & go back to doing what I was doing before I was so rudely disturbed !!! Let them waste their time hanging on the phone for you to return (which obviously doesn't happen) Trust me, follow this plan & after 2 more calls with the same procedure(which is quite fun anyway)......They never call again.

Got a call from this number on our business line (Sydney) asking for the manager by name, advised that he's out until tomorrow and to leave a message.

They said it's for a charitable donation and that they'll call back another time.

i hung up on him and he rang back saying," Why you hang up me, why you hang up me? I have good help you."

rings my mobile .but hangs up before answer .so doubt it is someone seeing if I am home

Sometimes shows as private but is definitely the same scenario ad those already reported.

Have called incessantly for weeks. 3-4 times a day. Never leave a message. I am sick of it.

It is criminals burglars calling you if any one is home no matter where you live in Australia
this number called me minutes after going out
