Received a call from this number this morning, the man said in very broken English that he was changing my electricity provider as I requested. When I said that I haven’t requested a change, he got really snappy and insisted that he was changing it and demanded my address. When I asked which company he worked for, he sorta stuttered and couldn’t give me a straight answer then hung up.

After asking who was calling as I could not understand the Indian caller properly though her thick accent, she hung up on me. I used Iselect about a month ago and now receiving phone calls from telemarketers, do not give Iselect your phone number they sell it.

Scam number from Electricity comparison website. iSelect and Compare the market are scam businesses. They will keep ringing you until you block the number, despite requests to stop calling. ACCC should be investigating these tactics by these businesses.

Ever since I went online to compare electricity prices and suppliers, I've been getting these calls. No messages left, just pushy marketing practice. Yes, I did ask to be called back - once. If they were that good, I'd have gone with them (Alinta Energy is one of the comparisons). I used iSelect and Electricity and Gas Wizard to compare, as well as Compare the Market. Once they've got your mobile, then happy days for them. All you can do is block them, or not answer them - lets face it, if it's an important call a message will be left!

This doesn't waste their time. They will be happy to be on the call as long as possible as they use internet phone most of the time. Telstra's subcontractor company used to do it and there was a time, employee got paid on the minutes they made in a day. 300+ minutes mean you're very good.

i ask them to call me back ..during my driving time...then keep them on the phone for as long as possible...asking them to repeat the questions and their answers, seeking more and more clarifications....then ask them to call back the next day once i checked my data...
waste their time and having fun doing so ! :)
