Automated message about an eBay confirmation payment. I do not buy from eBay

SCAM ALERT said she was from EBay, there was Fraud alert on my account, someone in Melbourne purchased $300 gift card last week. I knew there was no such purchase on my account. She asked I don’t open my eBay account for 24 hours & wanted to play me a case number on loud speaker, I played along but said I can hear her so why loud speaker? …... Told them I had a data protection service then they hung up - SCAM ALERT

Scam. My ebay account has apparently been hacked someone made a purchase of a $299 gift card & I need to pay them a fee for them to investigate. They push you to buy a gift card & then give them details. The amount was $299.

recorded message saying paypal account billed for $500. Obviously a scam. Hung up.

I called back number (02) 9056 7550 rang once then gets disconnected automatically.
