To all these types of calls I politely say "I am so sorry I am not in a position to be able to support you. Please remove my details from your list. Good luck with your work." This has worked well and is a much more pleasant way to deal with it for both parties. Look at it from their perspective. They are genuinely just working on behalf of a good cause so please don't abuse them. They don't deserve that. If they don't try, they get nothing and they wouldn't continue with it if they had no success at all. Having worked for a charity I know most of these calls are recorded at their end and I know they are required to remove your details at your request. MSF has been awarded a Nobel Peace Prize for their wonderful work and I would love to support them if I could. Maybe if I win Tattslotto!

So many calls from this number. But when I call back it says it's registered my number and will return my call. I don't want them to return my call!!

Unfortunately, charities often call existing supporters, simply because all the research shows that they are more likely to get more money from somebody who already supports them than to persuade new people to sign up. And because the Do Not Call register does not apply to organisations you already deal with, you can't actually stop them from calling; you can only ask them to stop.

hi wendy, you are so right, they do wonderful work worthy of support. Of course finances can be very tight these days so it can be difficult to find the means to support them, but one idea would be to stop buying Tattslotto tickets (because you will never win), and instead give that $2 / $3 / $5 per week to the charity (who will DEFINITELY do good work with it, saving lives and all that.). They do, in my humble opinion, deserve your money more than Tattslotto deserve it.

I also support MSF and have for a few years and have also told them on several occasions if they continue to ring trying to get me to donate more money I will have to terminate my support all together, things were quiet for awhile but again they have started to ring. Will now have to terminate my monthly donation.

I have been getting these calls too. It's a fundraising agency 2evolve, they partner with different charities. If you email contacts @ 2evolve.com.au then someone will take you off the list.

Get repeated missed calls from this number, always goes to voice mail and never leave a message. Have never call them back and after seeing comments here, won't bother either!
