Unicef Telemarketer - follows application for a "free" voucher on Facebook - all it did was get me a million unsolicited phone calls from every b*st*rd trying to dell something or get a donation!

I emailed UNICEF. Here is an extract of their reply:

"UNICEF engages MonDial Fundraising Communications to facilitate our telephone fundraising which has proved to be one of the most cost-effective methods in raising funds for the worlds most vulnerable children. The number provided belongs to Mondial Fundraising Communications.

We apologise for any inconvenience our phone call may have caused. We have amended your record to ensure that you will not be contacted for any future telephone appeals."

Have been receiving these calls everyday on landline then moby. I never answer & have a different ringtone set for this number so I know not to even bother checking my phones. I tried to send a 'cease calling this number' SMS text to them, but it would not deliver. Grrr. Will. Not. Answer. Their. Calls. Ever.

been receiving quite an increase of calls in the new year. I'm not signed up to Unicef. They never leave a vm - I simply have them saved as "do not answer" and it's as simple as that

This number calls me everyday ! Sometimes more than once !! You say don't be abusive ?! How about them not be harassing !! I have not signed up to have them call me ! I have not given permission to be contacted by them ! I do not want 3 missed calls and 3 voicemail messages every f*cking day from them when they leave no contact details to be called back so that I can ask to be taken off their call list ! It's my phone ! I shouldn't have to ignor calls on it , they should not be harassing me !

At least three calls most days - never answer. I don't doante to UNICEF but am regualr donor to several other orgs, so presumably they've shared private info. V unprofessional and more than a tad annoying as I am now ignoring all 02 calls assuming it is these pests.

I'm based in NZ and just randomly got a call from this number this afternoon? No voicemail? I have no idea who it was but hope they don't call again if it's a scam. Dunno how they got my number I've never donated money to an organization as other commenting ppl have.

Don't give time to answer. When I rang back said to put in my mail box numer. Very strange. Too many of these suss calls. As if you'd give money to these people even if they SAY they are calling for legit company.

Yeah, these people have been calling me too. I’m not convinced they are acting on behalf of unicef cos I’m been with unicef for years and they always send emails or letters. Plus I already donated. Frankly I think it's a scam so if you somehow manage to take the call like I did, fob them off, tell them not to call again and if you do want to donate GO TO THEIR WEBSITE! Don't give them your details over the phone.

I've had 4 missed calls from this number in the past 2 weeks. I've managed to answer once, and there was just silence, then they hung up. The second time they rang they hung up just as I was about to answer. Hopefully someone will be able to put a stop to this, because like everyone else, I'm starting to find it rather annoying.

I've had missed calls from them on and off for a year now. They don't leave any message, so tough luck to them. Obvious spammers, don't answer.

I added this number to the blocked calls list on my phone. Usually this works fine, as the blocked numbers usually hang up when my phone goes straight to voicemail. This evening I got ten minutes of their hold music. It was kinda nice.

I receive calls from this number on my mobile where it is blocked, they may also ring on my landline but that has an answering machine permanently, so if they ring that they hang up at the end.

I simply tell my friends "If you ring my home phone leave a message, I may be in and I'll ring you straight back", anyone else hangs up after listening to the message.

If it's a charity not much you can do about them, however I think that there should be a separate register for charity numbers, nothing against donating to charities, but some charities are pushy, the callers read of a sheet and don't listen to anything you say.

I've asked charities to simply send me a donation slip in the mail, I'll then decide at that time what amount I'm willing, or can afford. I refused to give out any information on the phone anymore, they don't seem to like that. Mail outs add to their postage costs, but better to get a donation than to worry about a few cents for postage, I will sometimes add the postage to my donation saving them the cost.

Mail it to me or leave me alone.

This number calls me repeatedly on my work mobile, which should not be in the hands of any charity, or really any organisation generally. When I answer there is nothing but silence on the end. They have begun to call at all hours of the night (I have to leave my work phone on in case I'm needed at those hours), and when I pick up at 2 in the morning to the sound of silence I feel more than a little agitated.
