Some say this is re Meals on Wheels - a very worthy organisation. Yes, I can see the point of those complaining as, unfortunately, the organisation has to rely on making cold phone calls soliciting donations and because most people nowadays don't do anything for nothing portion of what is donated goes to the caller. Keep in mind people, that one day YOU might need this service.

Answered and it was FUNDRAISERS MEA on behalf of "Meals on Wheels".
Did not fall into their trap. Meals on Wheels Australia is a wonderful organisation feeding a lot of our elderly who still live at home and usually on their own.. They usually advertised on TV and some ads ask for future donations. If you are passionate about this type of charity, please donate directly to them!

Yep... that's correct. Don't blame them if you're not happy with the legislation. Do Not Call register is for cold call advertising from businesses, not-for-profits are exempt.

People, this is what voice mail & answering machines are for; you can use it to take a message or screen your calls if it's an unknown number, or unexpected call.

I always screen my calls so I don't have to be rude & abusive to people I don't want to talk to & then whine about it online!

I don't begrudge charities trying to fund their noble cause, I just don't have any money & don't take calls from strangers.

Charity Telemarketer - bloody annoyance!!!!

Now its bloody meals on wheels . Sick to death of these cold calls . gimme gimme. they just want your money and they are persistent because the seller themselves gets paid for getting you to part with your cash. I really want to be rude but i just politely decline. For how much longer i can continue to be polite is a big question. I'm guessing not very long GRRRRR!

Got called from the same number and they claimed to be meals on wheels, not a marketer on their behalf. I informed them a relative actually drives for the organisation and they abruptly hung up. Strange to say the least.

Unsolicited Meals on Wheels. As elderly people we already give our time to charity (time is precious). They are basically after your email address - instead I just asked for their website and told them I would look it up. A lot of money usually goes into administration and marketing.
