I got two missed calls from the number (02) 9003 4363 and the pre-recorded message claims to be from the Canberra PCYC. The same pre-recorded message redirects me to 1800 729 946.

I believe the number belongs to a bigger number "range".

I just got a call from this number and a man said "Must be the wrong number sorry" and hung up straight away. After reading the comments below it looks like a scam/people calling for donations.

Funnily enough I got a call a couple of days ago from (02) 8823 3008 asking for my ex husband. I looked up that number too and can see that it was SES Volunteers so I'm guessing he's putting my work number down so I can get called. What a grub

This number just rang and stopped before I got there.
Ring the PCYC and simply ask how much they get from each dollar donated to them.
You will be in for rude shock when you find out how little it actually is.

What an absolutely horrible person he was to do that to you. I hope you're feeling better now. Good on you for being a caring person. (While of course don't let yourself be used, please don't stop caring! The world needs lovely people. All the best :) )

I got a call today from this number, guess what, my golden rule is DONT PICK UP, turn your ring tone to the minimum so you won't get annoyed.

We send everything from a number we do not recognize to the answering machine. This mob played over a minute of noise on the tape! Brilliant! Our telephone system is becoming a medium for harassing innocent people who want the right to choose who it talk to.

My number must get passed around like a cheap so and so. There is one way to prevent these types of nonprofit callers from calling you during lunch. Do not eat lunch.

I have a silent number and am also on the DNCR, but was told that charities like this (PCYC) could still access. The guy was really nice until I asked for my name to be removed. He made me feel so bad, for not wanting to make my community a better place, that I cried for an hour after hanging up.

Decided to answer the phone today and it was a call from PCYC wanting to update my contact details, etc. I told her that I receive fundraising letters with my ticket numbers several times a year, with means that they've got the correct info and don't need to update anything. She wasn't happy that I wouldn't trust her to comfirm my details with them.

These annoying beggars call a few times a week although I am on the do not call register and tell them never to call in future. I fail to understand how the PCYC beggars can claim charity status when they're selling a gambling product (raffle tickets) which aren't tax deductible as a donation.

"Am also on do not call register but they manage to get through"

Because they represent charities, which are exempt from the the Do Not Call Register. They shouldn't be exempt!!
