The number (02) 8999 9066 is from a company called PEAKBOUND, an outsourced telemarketing agency of Westpac. They call to sell financial products of Westpac Group. You need not call back instead they will call you back.

I reported this to Westpac and was informed it is a legitimate agency operating for and on there behalf I am concerned 1/ They have my phone number (where did they get it my number is silent. 2/ They also have my address mail came a Westpac logo on the envelope though to be fair it said agent for Westpac 3/ What annoys me is the frequency of the calls it has been every day I did however tell them yesterday I was not interested perhaps the calls might cease now I live in hope.

In my case it was a third party company calling to sell insurance on behalf of westpac. They will only sign you up over the phone, and won't divulge details of your insurance policy until you signup over the phone and then they will send you the policy documents by mail afterwards which 30 days to cancel... sounds exactly like the old door to door electricity scams...

Actually this is financial harassment and there is a law against this. The Westpac bank has something to answer for here. This is the sort of thing that should go on the news.

Stupid pommy girl hassling me about insurance as I'm a westpac customer. Has called me at work everyday for a week. Westpac is the worst bank, giving out details. Thankgod I don't have a mortgage with them.

Keep calling - don't answer. Hopefully they will get the message. Luckily, I give out my junk phone number and not my real phone number. I cannot afford to have these annoying people constantly ringing me and tying up my work phone. So, I got a cheap pre-paid phone from Telstra. Recharge it every few months with $20 and give that number out to anyone who needs a phone number including my bank, insurance company, government departments etc. If they ring and leave a message, I return the call. If they don't, then I ignore them. It is drastic action, but my mobile is used for work and customers need to be able to contact me - not get an engaged signal. I don't need to be tied up on the 20 nuisance calls a day I get.
