This is an Optus number, I'd arranged a call back from them last week- I didn't recognise number so didn't answer- no msg left so I called back and a recorded msg said "welcome to optus, to contact sales dept call 133...; to speak to our customer service team call 133..."...

Hi, I have had numerous nuisance calls from this number. I have since blocked this caller on my phone. I called Optus, who confirmed this was their sales team and said if there are problems in future to email: sales compliance.dono @ optus.com.au. I have reset my contact options on www.optus.com.au/intouch. Here is my story:

They were trying to sell me a post paid account after I had ordered pre paid SIM cards. They asked for my name and DOB without even stating why that was necessary or their purpose in calling. When I asked and then said I did NOT want a post paid account, they said there was an error with my order and that I should purchase the SIMS at a shop. I told her I got a good deal on the SIMS which ended yesterday and so I wasn't going to do that. She put me through to on line sales as she couldn't "deal with" pre paid. They couldn't deal with me either and put me through to the first ones, who then put me through to on line sales again. They wouldn't let me speak to a manager, so then put me through to another department who said all 3 of my orders were fine. There was another call from them an hour later with a message of BLANK for several minutes.

Just received a call from this number. claiming she could offer me some saving plan. confirmed my phone number then asked what is my DOB. I felt strange since they called me first. she explained that she understood but this is their procedure. I refused to give any of my information. before I finished my sentence she interrupted my talking and said "Ok then you can go to claim your promotion from Optus stores" and hung up straight away. .
couldn't believe this was actually from Optus. if it was, I'd say I would change to other suppliers next time. you guys are just trying to make weird sales with extremely awful attitude.

Rude Filipino lady claimed to be from Optus. Asked me to confirm my details. I said, "No, you confirm with me." "You tell me my birthday so I know you are from Optus". No luck. I hung up.

Just got a call from this number at 2:45am! The voicemail was clearly not intentionally left - a recording of what sounded like two or three Asian people just talking in a little kitchen. Love to get it translated! Not impressed though. Will be making a complaint.

I was undertaking the live chat quite late in the night, and the Optus person didn't understand what I was talking about after repeating myself on live chat around 3-4 times. By the 4th time, anyone would get impatient so I had to make sure she understood and was firm with her. After we had completed the conversation you can imagine as a customer who had to repeat themselves 3-4 times is pretty annoying. I suspect she prank called me around 5 times afterwards as a retaliation. Blocking the number now.

Got a call from a Phillipines or Indian man by this number and was told they were from Optus. Wanted me to sign up to a contract (im on a month by month deal) and that I could win a Samsung Galaxy S7. Told him im not interested. He then spoke something at a million miles an hour which I couldnt understand but I did pick up he wanted my DOB. Told him no and not to ring back then hung up.

I just phoned Optus about (02) 8956 7000. It is a sales call by a 3rd party for Optus. I told Optus that the call seemed very dodgy and wasn't a good look for Optus. She told me to ask for their employee number, if it's a caller with a strong Indian type accent the their number will start with CP. If it's an Aussie then it will be just a 5 digit number. The number I called Optus on to complain was 133 937 and I asked the operator for the complaints dept. She has also now put me on the do not call list for all the sales and promotions.

Someone with something similar to an American accent called and said she was from Optus and that I had gone over my data limit. She then asked for my DOB to confirm the acct. I said "Well you called me, if you have something to say, say it but Im not giving you my DOB or any other private info". and then.... Bang - Hung up on me...

Seems legit.... NOT!

If they are to call my home line, and are a "business", especially OPTUS, they should leave a message on the answering service, not hang up! very annoying!

This number has called me everyday for the last week. It only rings 2 or 3 times and they hang up before I can answer. I dont like to answer out of state numbers anyway. from what i have read, not cool optus. leave us all alone.
