This person just tried to call me regarding an electricity bill

Now I know 'scam' from all your comments. My policy is not to answer any identified number - and as you say if someone needs to get hold of you legitimately they will leave message. My blocked numbers far exceed my known contacts.

As soon as I realised this was a nuisance call, I laid my phone on my desk and let the caller waste her time and money. It won't stop the calls, but gives me a slight sense of satisfaction!!

called back this number after a missed call, immediately put through to the sound of an office phone ringing. like not the normal ringing noise when you call someone, the recording of an office phone ringing. so weird.

I called them back once and without introducing themselves or even mentioning the company, the person with an Indian accent stated "you must've received a missed call, thank you for calling, am I speaking to (they already knew my name)?
I asked who they were and again without mentioning the company the guy simply said we are an electricity company.
I asked how they got my number and how they knew who I was and apparently I signed up for telemarketing calls about electricity, but never mentioned when and where I allegedly signed up.
I told them that I never signed up for anything and was then advised that all their conversations are recorded so why would they lie. ANY reputable company will not only tell you up front that all calls are recorded before launching into anything, they'll also introduce themselves and the company they work for. They wouldn't just vaguely tell you that they're an electricity company.
Just block these calls as it's unprofessional and possibly a scam.

Tried to call me 3 times but i never picked up, just blocked them

When this number rings you they say they are not a scam but they are as they claim to be on a contract with energy Australia but in fact they are not a I know this because i have contacted energy Australia asking if they have a contract with them and they do not. As well they say that the call is recorded for training and quality purposes when it was half way through the call and if it was not a scam that would be one of the first things the would say. Also they try so hard to say they are a not a scam but in fact they really are

Yeah said they were my electricity company and that I was always paying my bill on time, which is funny because for the last 10 years I've been working at a resort with live in accommodation haven't paid for electricity, so I thought I'd see how far I could go with it asked them to tell me my electricity provider or city I live in anything other than my name........... They hung up. SCAM

This number called me twice today. If I don’t know who the caller is I don’t say anything I wait for them to speak first but they hung up after a second or so

This scam company called my friend for about 3 weeks and one day i told him to give it to me so I could call them and see what it was. FOr about 4 months I called them each day either pretending to be Jesus Christ or Jim from Jims mowing. It was a good bit of fun. There number is shut down now unfortunately.

He said he is electric company get hugh discount you want so i block number.

This number keeps calling everyday but hanging up after three seconds.

I picked up but no one answered.

Some scam about electricity bills. I listened to them go on for a while, seems like they were fishing for personal details.

sh*t head. Absolutely an electricity bill pre-sale. When I told her it's a wrong number, that sh*t head just hang up the phone.

Had numerous calls from (02) 8909 7058. How do I block the number???
