Just because someone calls and says they are from a charity (Children's Cancer Foundation/Project, etc) doesn't mean that it is true. I'm on the Do Not Call Register and it is a Silent Number. A check of Cancer charities for Children shows no link with this number. To quote the Kids With Cancer Foundation, NB we warn all our supporters to be wary of callers who say they are collecting/selling for kids with cancer. We are the only 'Kids with Cancer Foundation' in Australia: We don't sell our $2 lottery tickets over the phone. We have never phoned for donations. We don't sell any items or toys over the phone. We do not door knock anywhere So don't be fooled into believing that all are legitimate and that they have an exemption because of who they allegedly represent!!!!!!!!

They keep calling looking for someone that has never lived here. I assume the previous owner of the number. Every time I tell them there is no one here by that name. Yet they call and keep calling

Kids Cancer Project outsource their cold calling to a crowd called Contact Centres Australia, who have made news recently for alleged workplace bullying and underpayment of employees. Google "contact centres Australia bullying". If you want to make a difference, when they call, ask to speak to a supervisor and give them an earful. Or, call Cancer Kids Project and tell them how their use of call centres to fund raise negatively affects your view of them and charities who use the same methods.

I have had a few calls from this number They always hang up as soon as I pick up. This is odd behaviour. I wonder if one of the contracted callers for the charity is scamming the charity - are callers paid for the number of calls they make, regardless of any outcome?

Keep getting calls for a Dianne or Di... I've told them several times that she is no longer at this number. Why not take the number off their calling list?

Took a call from Kids Cancer on Wednesday, said "no thanks". Don't think I've ever donated. They've got my number somehow even though I'm on the Do Not Call register. So even though I've said no, they continue to ring. Twice yesterday. Twice so far today. I now recognise the number and don't answer.

I've been getting repeated calls from this number as well (three this morning so far & umpteen messages on my answering service). I work from home so it's a frustrating intrusion. Yes, it is the Kids Cancer Project. I understand that they need to call to get donations. I finally decided to answer and spoke as calmly as I could to the man and explained that I would normally be happy to support them but I didn't appreciate the way they were going about it and on principle I would not support them on this occasion. I asked that he passed on my message to his superiors and he was quite understanding. I expect if others do the same they will eventually get the message. Rant over!

They ring me every day on my mobile and my telephone. When I see the number I never answer it. But they keep trying day after day.

As annoying as the cold calls are I don't understand why people are complaining they are on the do not call register but still receiving charity calls. They are exempt! Always have been. Maybe this site should state that before you can post? P.s. I'm on the register and hate getting calls as well :-)
