CITIBANK

Block from your iphone and login to their website to delete/change your contact numbers. I was receiving these harassing calls at work for as little as $24 over limit. I removed work phone number and now stopped calling there.

They are a nightmare - if you 1 day late paying they start with the calls - up to 6 a day. I have blocked from iphone but the unknown caller id sneaks through. There is usually a long silent message or if you answer no one speaks. There is never a message and no way to call back... you have to guess its them and when you do call to say you have paid etc - they say they make a note on the file and wont call back but they do - so you call again and patiently explain ... again and they eventually concede that you are in a computer system which automatically dials your number even if a call centre staff person isn't available to actually make the call to you - hence the silence.... not only that the computer continues to generate calls to your number until the account is righted. So calling to tell them you have paid or you will pay shortly is pointless...

Don't waste your breath - Complain to ACCC.

The reason why Citibank do not leave messages and sometimes show up as "caller unknown" because we have laws in Australia, whereby a debt collecting company cannot call more than 3 times a week. To date, I have received on average 7 calls a day, which is considered as "repeated contact without interval" and falls under undue harassment under the Australian Consumer law. The company can receive heavy fines if they are breaching the law. I have made a formal complaint and invite you all to do the same. If you are experiencing this too, make a formal complaint to the ACCC: www.accc.gov.au

Same experiences as many of the people above. Harassing calls from NO caller Ids. at all times, including weekends, as soon as bill is overdue one day, usually because their online system blocks me out everytime I try to use online banking, although I'm using right password. Requests to give private information to people from an unidentified number. Being accused of overdue monthly payments and being sent to creditor', even thought I have made them and tried to offer evidence, etc. etc. Lack of adequate response to my requests. Blame the victim kind of attitude! At my wits end and lodged complaints with Citibank and Financial Ombudsman.

Citibank Use these tactics all the time.I rang straight back also finding that the number is disconnected on the Telstra recording. I'm out of patience and only hope that if they keep doing this it may come back to bite them. People are not going to continue supporting a bank with this type of attitude. Perhaps it's the American way but just at the moment I don't have a lot of choices going for me, but when I get a chance it won't be Citibank and I'll be with.

Ditto ditto ditto....
Stopped counting the nunber of calls, if I answer, all I get is silencè - annoying cake-holes!!!
Finally blocked the number on my Android phone, now its worse - Aargh! Each time they now leave a very long message which is either silence or background noise in a busy call center.
I thought Vodafone put a 5 min limit on the length of a message, but these go on way past that. I've never managed enough patience to reach the end of one, but it would cost me a fortune if I were being billed for voice-mail and/or retrieval as many mobile users are.
Citibank should be fined heavily for this abusive practice, but that wont happen without complaints.
IF (02) 8624 1000 ARE ANNOYING YOU PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO LODGE A FORMAL COMPLAINT WITH THE ACCC.

Cheers,

PT

If it is a bank calling then why do they hang up on you as soon as you answer the call? Why not just tell you why they are calling?

It is Virgin Australia Credit Card which is through Citibank.
You can receive calls from but can't call them on this number or check who it is from.
