I had a call from this number claiming to be from Google. I called them back about 25 times just to keep them from calling others. Great thing was it answers automatically so they can't ignore me :-)

I basically spent 1/2hr abusing them in 10 second spurts. It was awesome fun, I was stalking the stalkers ;-)

I highly recommend others to do the same, not only is it fun but it is helping to make life hell for these scammers and maybe, just maybe they'll decide to get a real job next time

3 pages of complaints and a spam score of 100% - How simple is it for the communications ombudsman to shut these clowns down? Even if its Philippines or where ever? Another unknown number i ignored then get on here to read many complaints of harassment. Unfortunately i dont get harassed that much anymore as i have had a lot of fun with numbers that do keep calling ...

Just received a call from this number as well. Saying they are Centrelink and have sent letters regarding back pay for an adjustment. IT>IS>A>SCAM. Just called Centrelink and the advisor told me they only call from blocked numbers.

Rang from a call centre as I could hear all the background noises and she wanted me to go to my computer so she could help me fix virus. Same old, same old. Today I got one saying theyre Telstra from a private number, same thing. They've usually come from overseas, what is the govt doing about this???

Just got this ringing to my elderly Mum's phone. I don't know anything about Centrelink, and nearly pressed one of the numbers as she is a pensioner. Thank heavens I thought twice, and hung up. Same as everyone; got a recorded message, saying that were from Centrelink, and that there was a pay increase. If someone on Centrelink lives at the address, press 1, if not, press 2. Sounds very official. An elderly person, or someone with intellectual disability, or new Australian may think this is a legitimate call.

You can report these numbers to the REAL Centrelink in person and you can report these numbers to the REAL ACC Scamwatch website.

Might not get the numbers cut off BUT it can help Police track and trace the scammers.

Received a call this afternoon from (02) 8607 8601. Claiming via a recorded message to be an "official call" from The Department of Human Services (Centrelink).
Wanted name, address and CENTRELINK REFERENCE NUMBER.

I am currently on welfare benefits BUT I know that the REAL Centrelink send letters out via Australia Post when they want to contact you about changes to any payment you receive FIRST. No one at my address got any mail from Centrelink recently.

This smells of an identity-fraud scam.

Got a missed call from them today, and no message was left - I actually don't receive a pension of any kind from the govt, so am not sure why they'd want to contact me. However, reading the comments here, I can only believe that it is yet another scammer call. I am also amazed that they want iTunes cards to be sent to them - seriously

Yes, I also had a recorded message from "Centrelink" saying "Great news! We have increased the pension rates. Press 1 if you receive a Centrelink pension, press 2 if you receive another payment" Um... I reckon Centrelink would know which payment I was getting from them (if I was getting one!)
Nice try scammers, but not falling for such rubbish.
