Phoned (02) 8524 5979 to check and automated message says it was a call on behalf of the Australian Red Cross

Red Cross wanting money... So they tried to hijack me at work.. Sorry love, I'm here to earn it, not spend it. In fact.. I have so many bills this week.. how about a hand out?? ohh no you don't do that? Just happy to TAKE my money..

Just leaves a stupid noise on the answering machine.

Have had six call over two days. They will be harrassing people trying to extract money before the end of the financial year. V.annoying.

Not Red Cross. I have looked into this and I think it might be a hoax. The number is also linked to a tax fraud attempting to get people to release their tax file number.

They are doing great work for charity, but go and have a look at the office on St Kilda Road.............

Outrageous! Left a voice mail saying I had an unfiled tax return and a warrant was out for my arrest and to call this number (02) 8524 5979! You call the number and they ask for your tax file number. When you refuse citing the potential for identity fraud they immediately disconnect. Someone needs to shut these people down!

I HAVE a private number and get calls from this number - then hang up. If it is a charity, being on the Do Not Call Register does not apply to them, so nothing you can do I suppose - pains in butt. If you're going to take the time to call - say something and don't just hang up on people !

I have a private number but they still keep on ringing Red Cross your of my list, a real pain in the butt

Numerous calls from this nos but after reading other complaints feel that the Red Cross should be told. They should investigate as it is only giving them a bad name. Cannot believe that such a great charity organization would do this.

This number keeps ringing and will not leave a message. By the time I struggle to the phone they just hang up. Bloody pain the the rear end. Now I know it is the Red Cross they are OFF my charity list.

Sick and tired of receiving calls from this number especially after 7.30pm.
Please stop .If its not the red cross its the kidney foundation .I get so many calls every day,so thinking of changing my number to a private one .
