Caller: Kevin Walton My Health Care

My father received a call from the Indian sounding gentleman. This gentleman was armed with my father's health information about recent surgery and what medication he is taking citing " I want to ask how your a coping following your recent surgery". Asked health related questions. My father was under the impression that he was from his real health team and when told that he should take certain tablets (Vivid Omega 7) just for him, he gave CC details for $149.85 that was supposedly not covered by PBS. He told them he wouldn't have the money for a month but they transacted immediately. Where did they get his personal health information and at no time did they disclose that they were a commercial supplement company selling their products. Poor form to be targeting elderly unwell people.

Caller: Victoria from My Health Care

Victoria rang me on my private unlisted home phone number. I asked how she got my number and she said "through the register of data vendors". What!!! I was losing my voice on the day she rang. Instead of saying that she would ring me another time, she started asking me personal questions about my health and what my doctor had said. When I said I didn't know who she was, she said that she was from My Health Care (which is very similarly named to Centrelink's My Health Record) but when I Googled that name later, nothing came up. She said they were calling seniors about their health, to see how they could assist them. As I wasn't well, she gave me her phone number but said she'd call me back, which she did, but in the meantime I Googled the phone number and saw all the complaints. I then rang the phone number and asked the girl who answered what the company was. She said it was a "health supplement company". When Victoria rang me again and said that they wanted to help with any (or all) areas of my health, I told her that I already had people doing that for me. She replied "this isn't about insurance" but I said that I didn't need any help with looking after my health so she politely hung up. At that point I knew that she was probably a scammer and I think she knew that she wasn't going to get any money out of me BUT I do worry that others will be conned.

said she "was from MyHealthCare.. talking to lots of seniors in the area" .. certainly knew her stuff .. obviously well educated and with perfect english and good medical knowledge .. but at the end, claimed to have a dietary supplement that would cure my ills... and of course .. wanted a credit card number .. one has to feel sorry for these people .. modern Robin Hood's .. this is the closest i have ever been to being scammed ..(i can understand how people get caught) ..

my mother received call from very Indian gentleman saying his name was Frank Stevens and that he was ringing regarding a government funded health program. Asked her age, general health and mentioned lots of people her age have arthritis. Call came in 6pm on a public holiday so she became suspicious of a government office being open at night on a public holiday so she ended the call.
