Received an automated message also from Ron Watson, claiming to be from the ATO, saying there was a legal partition notice against my name and to call back immediately. I called back on the number, which was answered straight away, which I found unusual for the ATO as they normally have automated message prompts for each dept. The person answered with you have reached the ATO this is Paul. I explained my reason for calling and he asked for my first name and told me my address. Then proceeded to tell me there was a serious claim against me. When I questioned him, he would not give me any details but got very aggressive. I said I wanted to know what this was in relation too, as I have always paid my taxes on time and have no outstanding depts. with the ATO, I also asked for confirmation of his status with the ATO , and implied that this was a bogus call. He got very nasty and said that I won't think it's bogus when the police turn up on my door step in 30 minutes time with a warrant for my arrest and jail? He then hung up on me. I searched for ATO scams and fount a genuine ATO number to call and the consultant assured me of this being a scam. PHEW, I was very upset by this. I can definitely see how older and more venerable people can be lured in There are some very low individuals other there!

Had same message left today. telling me to call (03) 6107 9602 claiming to be ATO, Legal partition... Arrested, Police,etc. All the rubbish. Called them back, 'Paul' answered saying he is the ATO. Thought I'd dig a bit and I asked, "Oh, ok. Where are you based? Which Office?". He hung up and the number no longer answers....

Received same call from a different number: (02) 6152 0613 (i think as i didn't take it too seriously), Just wanted to log my annoyance and concern here - hope it helps those people who may actually phone these scammers back! DO NOT!!!

Yes I've been having these phone calls as well. Just 1min ago. I have a Ron Watson (02) 8103 2017 calling me. He called at least 10 times yesterday. My husband knew it was a scam. Thank god I have caller id, so I let go to message bank. I hope the police go to his front door in 30mins and arrest him. It's getting very annoying. Can someone please STOP this person. 😡

I received a call stating he had a creditors petition for tax fraud. Ron Wilson (03) 4309 4061. American accent..Number constantly engaged when you call back.

Same Ron Wilson recorded message twice with same claim and threat of arrest. But number was (03) 4309 4061.

Just had an automated call from ton wilson claiming i had a tax fruad.no mention of my name but to call him back asap on 90216918 before I'm arrested. This is not how the ato would conduct business please find someone else to scam

I got the same auto calls. 4 from Ron Watson and 1 from Peter Jones. Both saying to call back on (02) 6145 2686
Well I rang the number and asked the person who answered the call there name and he said Peter I then asked what business he worked for and he hung up on me.

Me too. I was threatened with summons or arrest. The message was clearly a recording, with an occasional computerised pause before certain words. My name was not mentioned - just the phrase "in your name". "Ron Watson" had an American accent and the term "courthouse" further suggested an American origin. The number given to me to ring was (02) 8607 8509. I bought the Brooklyn Bridge last week so I have no money left to pay out on this one.

Received an automated message from the same guy Ron Watson with the Legal department of the ATO!!! I wish these ASSSH......es would get a life!!!! get out and get a real job and leave the rest of us to get on with our lives. Dont need to answer phone calls from di....kheads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i received a phone call from a Ron Watson asking me to contact him urgently he was from the Tax office claiming he had a fraud case against me tried the no with no resullt

Received automated message from Ron Wilson from the ATO requesting me to return their call asap before a tax matter regarding myself goes to court, or I am arrested.

Had the same automated message by a person called Ron Watson from the ATO legal dept.
I called the Ato who definitely confirmed that this is scam.
Poor person got scammed out of $5000.00 by these professional scammers.
ATO, has advised to call them before giving any bank financial details to anyone.
This is not there method of collecting outstanding money/ debt collection

Strange call claiming to be the legal department of the Australian Tax Office. I have ignored it as the Taxation Department would not use this method to contact me. I tried ringing the number several times but it seems to be constantly engaged.

Received an automated message from 'Ron Watson' with the Legal department of the ATO saying a claim of fraud had been made against me. Only trouble is this landline we don't use and only have for the internet....
