Received call right on dinner time stating that I have been involved in a car accident. Told her that was not correct and hung up on her. Didn't try to ring back. Would love to know how they get your details as she knew my name. Definite Scam ... beware!!!

100% total scam. Ever noticed these people are more than often From the U.K. England, Scotland, Ireland etc? My guess is these people are tourists in Oz and are working CASH IN HAND and company and staff don't give a rats. By the time an individual has been somewhat I.D'd there on the move travelling again or returning back where they came. It's a very clever though deceitful setup. Potentially the only need one over trusting client to slip up and suddenly you've paid everyone's wages.
SAY NOTHING & BLOCK THESE PEOPLE.

I don't understand why, if they're known scammers with a valid Australian phone number, they can't be found & prosecuted. Surely they wouldn't have a phone account without some sort of ID. We've also had calls from this number (and other identical scam calls from other numbers).

How do they get your details? Social media - Facebook, etc. Whitepages, etc
Most of the numbers they dial are random computer generated and from overseas so the DNC is irrelevant, the authorities are powerless to stop it.

Got a call today from Esure asking if I had been in a car accident and when I said no they said I'm very sorry to hear that and hung up.

Knew it was a scam. But love how they are very sorry to hear that I haven't been in a car accident.

Have told them numerous times I'm on the do not call register, have been rude to them and told them not to ring, getting sick of it, wish they would get lost, I would love to know how they get your details

I got a call and when I answered it obviously went through some call forwarding, so I just hung up. Thanks to the info here I have blocked the number now.
