These scammers are at it again, years later ! Received a call today (10/2/2021) from a 'private number', non Australian accented male claiming to be from Telstra tech support with address 215 Miller street, North Sydney. Saying our internet was being compromised. When we asked where they were calling from and their contact number, they hung up. BEWARE !!

We have been getting constant calls saying our NBN connection with Telstra will be cut off with in 24 hours. We are not with Telstra & he was asking us to connect to our computer so our problem could be fixed. He gave us a Telstra id and address of 215 Miller St Sydney, all in correct. He wasn't listening to me when I said we were not with Telstra, he went on to say about this was not a SCAM (cough cough) it definitely is .... BEWARE!!!! They are constant with the phone calls too... we get 3-4 times a day for last 4 days ... grrrrr

Caller: Telstra Scam

My husband was contacted last night from a non Australian accented Josh Hazelwood and Harry Brooks claiming that they are from Telstra and hackers have hacked into our laptops. Was able to convince my husband to install a software on his laptop and re-start the wi-fi. When I spoke to them I asked for validation of where they are from and they said 215 Miller Street North Sydney. I proceeded to ask for validation that they worked from Telstra by way of an email before we proceed further with the call. They were coming up with all sorts of excuses so I said I dont think this is a genuine call from Telstra. They then subsequently hung up the phone.

We un-istalled the application, rebooted the laptop and unlisted our number. In reading through this particular scam it appears that this has been going on for years, cant telecommunication companies pick up these phone numbers and block them? Is there no legislation on using phone numbers for scams? If not there should be.

Caller: I have had 3 phone calls on my land line from people that sound Indian saying they are with Telstra NBN

when I asked where they were - they all said Telstra NBN 215 Miller Street North Sydney 2060
when I asked for their phone number they gave me 1800 732 239
Because I wouldn't play ball with them they all hung up....But now I am getting calls each day on my mobile and they hang up
the mobile call from them is 0421 820 132
I haven't tried to phone either number as I don't want to encourage them
But surely Telstra can check these numbers out????

Caller: Mathew and then his "supervisor" Ryan came on the phone

They told me that if I did not do as they said they would send the Australian Federal Police to my home (They could not pronounce or even try to to pronounce my town, however knew my home address) I told them that I would welcome the visit from the AFP and would bake a cake so we could have a nice cup of tea - they hung up on me

Rang me at 2:55pm Fri 5/1/18. Said our internet would be down tomorrow, due to hackers who have attempted to access the home PC. I asked him where was from originally, and he said Sri Lanka. Been in Australia for 5 years. Asked where was from he said Telstra Technical Support. I asked where was located; Miller street North Sydney. I asked if I could call him back- he gave me (07) 3103 2687. That is not in Sydney !!! He said that was H.O. I said I would call him back. Weird call

I can get up to 3 calls a week from these scammers claiming they are from Telstra, saying they're either from 215 Miller St, North Sydney NSW or Exhibition St, Melbourne VIC. A woman who called herself "Sandra Davis", (but she had a foreign accent??) When I said it was all a scam, she said "put your head in a box" and hung up. :))
How about "Henry Baker", (another foreign accent) who said he was from Telstra, he even gave me his ID number B020768, he told me to go to the Start Button, Press Control button and the letter R and the problem would be revealed ? I told him I would call Telstra to report his scam, and I said goodbye and hung up. But he called me back and he warned me that my internet would be cut off if I did that. What planet was he born on? They think we will fall for all their silly scams.

I had a call form the same number today. Indian guy calling himself Sam Risaro supposedly from Telstra. Started going on about someone downloading a DNS file via email to my PC, said needs access to my PC to fix. Also was very aggressive.
I called him out with a few choice swearwords and he hung up. Would love to flatten one of these pricks.

various times of day. He also became quite rude when i said that I could not understand him and he said "cant you speek English". I have also found out from a relative that they are getting the same scenario but from (02) 8292 1308. He is also using a THREE digit number to get into contact. Another phone call today from overseas. They are very persistant and the man named Alex is unpleasant. Do not give any information to these scammers.

Number was quoted by an "Alex Johnson" who was claiming to be from Telstra Bigpond and wanted access to my computer "to remove viruses and corrupted files".
The address "215 Miller Street North Sydney" was also quoted, which is documented as being used in the same type of scam.
He was not from Telstra, and the Event Log errors/warnings on my computer are nothing to do with viruses or corrupted files.
He became abusive when I disagreed with him.
Just hang up!
