Possible scam, Voicemail left on my phone in an american accent claiming to be the ATO...

Caller: Email from NORTON 360.<sender.zoho-books.com.au

Received email advising they will debit $499.90 for ATO renewal of Norton 360 premium for 3 years. The phone number given is for any queries. We've never set up DD for Norton.

They rang and I answered, there was a voice recording saying I owe tax. I rang back and an indian answered. Then he hung up on me

American accent suggesting I had a warrant or something similar outstanding. I didn't listen to the call i hung up half way through. I rang the number back and someone with an Indian accent answered stating a name such as ".... practitioner Office". When i asked for the business name again he hung up. I have tried to call twice again and no answer tot he number. I am thinking a scam.

Possible scam, claimed to have called from Australian Taxation Office. ATO never call people out of the blue so don't call this number back. HIGH POSSIBILITY OF SCAM!!!!

Definitely a scam - voice is Indian, answered by Indian.

Called up the ATO’s dedicated scams line on 1800 008 540. Got confirmed that it was a scam. Do not call call the (02) number back.
